Will this hard drive interface with a SATA 3 Motherboard?

Yes SATA 6 hard drives are backwards compatible with SATA 3. The connector is the same. However if you get a SATA 6 drive and put it on a SATA 3 motherboard, the drive will only run at SATA 3 speeds.

Is this drive advanced format?

I am not sure what you mean by advanced format, but this drive is 1TB and should work in any modern OS, uefi or standard BIOS (the limit for standard bios is 2TB)
