What kind of cable does this need? It doesn't seem have normal sata data and power ports

It uses a SAS connector, I actually bought this drive by mistake and discovered this fact. While you can connect a sata drive to a SAS backplane, you can not connect a SAS drive to a SATA backplane.

does it have encryption?

No. Like most hard drives, there is no built-in encryption. That instead is a feature of the operating system you use, such as BitLocker under Windows.

Which specific servers (e.g. model number / part number) will this hard drive be compatible with?

The list of compatible hardware would be quite large. In my case, it's connected to a Supermicro AOC-SAS2LP-MV8, and works beautifully.

Are these original, OEM new, or refurbished?

I wouldn't trust these drives and they usually come with NO warranty as they were meant to be installed in computers by OEM's, not consumers and end users.

Do these come with a 3 year or 1 year warranty? It says two different things on the page.

According to the Seagate site, 5 years. This site won't let me include the include the URL to the datasheet, but some googling should reveal it to you.
