Yes, the standard for laptop computers is a 2.5" SATA connection drive. I currently have a lenovo myself and it would fit mine. I know not all laptops are the same but when it comes to hard drives all of them use this connection.

Ho offer some help now, I don't know if you replaced it already, to make it easier, before you replace the drive and have to reinstall everything, not just the OS but also all the drivers for the hardware, if you can still use the computer, I would clone the old hard drive onto the new hard drive. The size of your partition wouldn't change but that can be changed after the cloning is done. It saves you all the time and hassle of finding all the driver installations. You would need an external enclosure though to connect your new hard drive to the computer. Any more questions just ask.

Your Inspiron 531 motherboard should have 4 SATA Hard Drive ports. As long as you don't have more than 3 drives including the CD ROM(s) you should be able to add another hard drive like this one. If you already have 4 drives you will need to add either a PCI-E 1x or standard PCI SATA add-on card. You should also be aware that this is a laptop drive so it is smaller than normal desktop computer hard drives. You will probably need to use bracket to convert from 3.5" to 2.5" to physically attach the drive in a hard drive bay. ie: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817986010

No you cannot change the RPM speed. That is the speed this hard drive is designed to run at. You would need to find one that is 7200 RPM. I would recommend the Samsung brand hard  drive. Yes. Just about any drive will work as long its 2.5". You will have to reinstall the os and drivers if you are swapping out the drives. I use this as a secondary drive inside my t430 thinkpad and it works great.

Hi I need it, for a dead chipboard exchange and disk data recovery. My HDD HN-M750MBB/SCC was manufactured  2011.11 by SAE Magnetics Ltd/China and the front side label printing is in Korean language, same as your displayed one.  The chipboard sticker says W3 REV 3 201101 M3A 1481. Can I exchange the chipboard to recover my data?  Do you ship overseas? Thx
