How many rpm's is this hard drive?

It's around 5600 RPM.  This drive will stop spinning when it doesn't get calls from the computer.  I like this because it has a longer life this way, I have one of these smaller that I've had since 2011.  The faster 7200 drives tend to fail sooner, especially if they stay in "always on," which some people have a need for.  There are apps you can install to keep drives like this awake if you wish, just know they can shorten the life until eventual failure, it is a mechanical drive.

I have a large collection of music on CD's and would like to save them to hard drive. Can this drive copy CD's from commercial sources?
