I think the answer is no but wanted to check. I have a MyCloud with two 3TB WD Red drives. One of them is bad, can I replace the bad one with this gold drive?

I am not sure. On a NAS system, it has the built in tools to reformat the drives to work together. I am not sure if the MyCloud system does. I have been able to mix brands with no issues. If you have the tools to format the drives or build the array it should work. I have even as a temporary fix on a 8 drive 6 TB WD array substituted a 10 TB Seagate drive. It formatted the 10 TB drive and used it as a 6 TB drive and worked fine. I later replaced it with a 6 TB drive.

Do I need a special adapter for this hard drive? Because It doesn't fit in the server I currently have.

It is a SAS drive so you need a SAS controller and SAS cable to connect the drive. Brent
