5 out of 5 eggsBetter Than Expected

Pros: Installed batteries, plugged in dongle -- and it worked - instantly! My wired and wireless KBs work perfectly together in Linux. No switching or installing drivers. This keyboard works better than I expected it would at approximately 40'!

Cons: None

Overall Review: Now I can be the ultimate couch potato. Run my HDTV system and my computer from my recliner, Ahhh, life is good!

4 out of 5 eggsYou need Touchfreeze

Pros: see other reviews

Cons: cursor jump while typing, location of certain keys, read below for solution!

Overall Review: this keyboard is pretty nice as others have said but it has one big flaw where as your typing the cursor will jump to other places since your thumbs will graze the touch pad making typing a harrowing experience. for months I endured this torture and even looked for a replacement until I found an awesome little program called TOUCHFREEZE. problem solved! this program simply senses your typing and disables the tap feature on your touchpad for a second effectively preventing any cursor jumps errors! so plan on getting this program or you will probably be frustrated. Also there are programs that will easily remap keys so you can have everything where you want it i.e. delete/backspace.

5 out of 5 eggsWireless Keyboard for HTPC

Pros: This is plug and play. Insert the receiver in a USB port, press the button, press the FN key and it's up and running. This is a laptop type keyboard i.e. it has an integrated mouse pad. I ordered this for my new HTPC. Excellent range.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for HTPC

Pros: Bought this for a home theatre pc I was setting up and it works like a charm. Claimed range is 100'. It may be able to get 100' in a straight line with no electrical or wireless interference but in real world application it's more like 25 feet. Still good range though.

Cons: I noticed a little interference for a couple of seconds one time while using it and I'm still not sure where it came from. Others have noted that your wireless internet can interfere with it and changing your router to another channel (some suggested 11) helps a lot.

Overall Review: Great keyboard. Wish it had been about $50 because I feel that's what it's worth.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Size. Generally does what you expect of a keyboard. Mouse functions well, easier for me than a track ball, with proviso below.

I personally have not had trouble with the sleep/wakeup function.

Cons: 100' range? Not even close. About 1/10th that. I use this as a HTPC keyboard, about 12 feet from the usb receiver & still get occasional dropped keystrokes & mouse hangups. It seems as though it momentarily loses contact. "Pointing" the keyboard directly at the receiver will bring it back.

What I REALLY hate about this thing is the left mouse click tap function on the Synaptics touchpad. I've had laptops with this & have always turned it off. This uses M$ plug & play drivers, NO TOUCHPAD SETTINGS. I think if a fly landed on the touchpad, it would register a click, it's THAT OVERSENSITIVE. More than once I've moved the cursor from the right to the left of the screen in WE folders view & inadvertently selected/moved some unknown folder to who knows where. VERY annoying.

Overall Review: Good HTPC keyboard, but a bit irritating for general use, (not that I don't still use it that way) primarily because of the left mouse click tap thing. I've researched extensively, there seems to be no way of killing the "feature"; if anyone has come up with a way to kill the tap, please pass it on.

4 out of 5 eggsHonest Review

Pros: works just like the keyboard on a laptop, very small, might be like a 14" laptop? Easy install and very lightweight. The batteries included are Energizer, not generic! :) Very sleek and stylish if you going for appearance.

Cons: READ THIS: 1st, the keyboard has a unique layout(some alphabet keys double as numbers) enable/disable with an additional shift key. Everytime you reboot you have to disable this, Every time! I called the manufacture they were friendly and helpful but this was there answer. Advanced users could technically disable numlock in BIOS and this may help. 2nd, It cannot handle multiple key functions at all, specifically gaming. 3rd, The keyboard is probably designed to be used on your lap? Well, thats almost impossible because its so small and light thats impossible keep steady on your lap to type.

Overall Review: Others have said its a great "Home Theater keyboard" and this was my intent. I just watched 90.00 sit there and collect dust. I don't think a keyboard should be a burden to use. I am not saying that this keyboard will not work for some, this is just my experience.

4 out of 5 eggsNice HTPC keyboard

Pros: Integrated touchpad allows pointing with either hand.
Smaller than it looks in the picture.
Decent range.

Cons: Very sensitive to interference from WiFi network. Cursor movement and key press rate go WAY down when network loaded (e.g. copying video files).

Overall Review: Got this to replace my Ione wireless integrated joystick KB after the Ione got worn and started missing a lot of key presses. I much prefer the touchpad, and have had good luck with Adesso keyboards in the past. I hope this one lasts longer than the Ione.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Solution for my Theater PC

Pros: Compact, light weight, very thin (it does have extendable "legs"), good tactile response, has 4x to 5x the range of the (brand new full size) MS keyboard this will replace. ~25 to 35 feet with realistic obstructions. You might get more than that with perfect line-of-sight between keyboard and USB transceiver. I have my HTPC in my living room and this enables me to control it from the couch beautifully.

Cons: Could use Num Lock and Caps Lock LEDs

Overall Review: This is a svelte little keyboard that is approximately the size of a typical notebook keyboard. As others have mentioned, the USB transceiver sticks out a good 2.5 to 3 inches. I suspect this is necessary to enable good comm with the keyboard. Range is probable

5 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard

Pros: Works exactly like I would expect it to work. I have it hooked up to my laptop which is connected to my TV. Good range for a wireless keyboard. I use it at about 12 feet from the receiver and have no issues. Acts about exactly as you'd expect a laptop keyboard w/touchpad to act.

Cons: Very light and flimsy. Not really a problem if you take care of your stuff. Seems a little pricey for what you get, although it it somewhat cheaper than the Logitech Dinovo.

Overall Review: I use it hooked up to my EEE which is hooked up to my TV to stream Netflix and other online content. I prefered the touchpad over the other keyboard/mouse combos with the trackballs.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it is supposed to

Pros: Great range and battery life. Does everything it is supposed to.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: I had a few dropped keystrokes until I moved my 802.11g base station away from channel 6. After that, everything was perfect. Receiver is in my basement with the keyboard in the kitchen on the floor above. Range is over 30 feet with no drops.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for media PC

Pros: Perfect for a media PC. I have a Mac Mini connected to my TV, and I use it as my DVD player and to play DivX video. This keyboard works great, and the batteries last months.

Cons: None yet. The range isn't fantastic, but more than I need for my living room.

Overall Review: The keyboard is RF, and comes with a USB dongle and a USB extension cord. This is great for any OS, because there are no drivers required.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HTPC Keyboard

Pros: Worked out of the box in Asus BIOS, XP MCE SP2 and Ubuntu 6.10
Works great in living room; worked from fifteen yards away through multiple walls at office
No interference from other devices (MCE remote, cellphones, b/g wireless router/laptop interface)
Very small
Very light
Trackpad negates need for a mouse and functions like a laptop trackpad
Side scrollbar on trackpad interesting/useful; works as designed
The primary keys are where I expect them to be

Cons: Takes the keyboard several seconds to come out of it's battery-saver sleep mode--activated after 10-minutes of idle time according to the manual; I prefer the battery savings and am never in much of a hurry when using it though so not much of a con

Overall Review: I used to grab my laptop and operate the HTPC via VNC when necessary. I'm trying to get used to just using it as a PC
The keyboard is a very small footprint and fits easily on a shelf under the coffee table. I'm getting very spoiled. I haven't owned a wireless keyboard/mouse in several years, but my previous experience was spotty at best. This has been heaven. Get it.

5 out of 5 eggsSofa Keyboard for Home Theater

Pros: Size and weight is nice. Wireless range is great, went thru 2 wall over 30ft in distance. Works seamlessly my newly built Vista Home Premium HTPC. Another PLUS for keyboard -- it also works on the XBOX360!! I'm really liking this

Cons: None really...maybe wished Adesso made one that was black

Overall Review: If Adesso makes an upgrade to this, hopefully they add some media buttons and make several keys "user defined"

5 out of 5 eggsIt's good...

Pros: - Laptop like keyboard & touchpad that is easy to get used to
- really good range (did not measure, but it's much better than my gryation mouse / keyboard set)
- breeze through installation / device syncronization
- Very light weight
- Suprisingly decent looking (I was really not expecting much based on the online picture and initially just planned to use it until the new MS 8000 Vista keyboard becomes available, though I might just keep it as my media center keyboard)

Cons: - Though essentially a laptop keyboard layout, it's not the same as my current laptop and still requires some getting used to.
- There are no indicators for synchronization, caps lock, etc. (Though sync was very very easy and I've never needed the other indicators before)
- I think there is no channel selection and not sure what would happen if you wanted 2 of these (I did not look into it yet.)
- I have not seen how long the battery lasts and unfortunately it's not rechargable
- It lacks some of the media center integration features that future Microsoft keyboards will have (though you also pay less anyway)

Overall Review: Really good device. Worth the money.

Pros: BOUGHT 2 OF THESE PUPPIES FOR MY 2 HOME THEATER PCs WHICH DIDN'T COME WITH KEYBOARD, MOUSE, OR MONITOR. THESE KEYBOARDS ARE SMALL ENOUGH TO HIDE AWAY ANYWHERE.
I'M ABOUT 20 FT TAWAY FROM MY LCD TV/PC AND BOTH THE TOUCHPAD AND KEYBOARD ARE WORKING FLAWLESSLY. A MUST HAVE FOR ANY COUCH POTATOE

Cons: NONE

5 out of 5 eggsThe htpc keyboard you want

Pros: This was not the first htpc keyboard I bought. I had to rma the first one because neither the keyboard nor built in trackball worked (although the trackball worked with the unit inverted.) This unit gives me no problems. No missed keystrokes, no issues at all. If you are wondering what it looks like in person it is literally a laptop keyboard and touchpad although considerably thinner. Nice unit.

Cons: It's expensive, really expensive but buy it anyway otherwise you will be loosing all your money rma-ing the other ones you buy back to newegg because they won't work worth a darn.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for a Media PC

Pros: Small footprint, stylish design which matches silver HTPC cases. I've finally found the HTPC keyboard I've been looking for. Tested from through 2 walls, works great and hasn't missed any keystrokes thus far.

Cons: None yet, hopefully I won't discover any.

Pros: Very simple to setup and RF provides ample range and great performance. Since the day I unpacked, it never failed me.

Cons: I wish it had side-to-side scroll at the bottom of the touch-pad and ability to program its functions.

Overall Review: I'm using this for my HTPC and it's great not to have wires running allover. I believe the touch-pad is way to go!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

Pros: This is a great product, and Newegg is definately the place to get it. I was having a hard time going from a laptop to a desktop and this is easing the transition, you might say. I'm glad I went wireless because now its like I have a remote. I orginally looked at these on "another site that starts with an E and ends in bay" and thought "well let me check Newegg first"...I'm glad I did. Newegg was almost half the price of the ones on "another site that starts with an E and ends in bay". Thanks again Newegg.

Cons: For awhile I got a "Keyboard Failure" message at startup, I moved the reciever to a different USB port and it worked fine. Probably not really a "con" about the keyboard, but I thought I should mention it.

Overall Review: If you have room, add an extra USB 2.0 card to your computer and put the wireless reciever on the interior port. It works great, and I never have to worry when I move the computer about the reciever getting lost.

1 out of 5 eggsBEWARE Touchpad Tap!!!!

Pros: Great Idea - A one-piece unit that has mouse function (touchpad) and keyboard in a SINGLE wireless connection. Small, good layout.

Cons: BEWARE - Touchpad uses Windows default mouse drivers which means you CANNOT DISABLE the TOUCHPAD TAP!!! This is no trivial problem, a few cheap laptop manufacturers did this and left people with laptops that cursor-jump/select all-over the screen when you accidentally touch the touchpad while typing. If you are typing and "tap" the touchpad (which is where your thumbs fall) the cursor can do all sorts of tricks including "selecting" whole blocks of text and on your next keystroke, you just typed a character over a whole paragraph, losing text and making typing nearly impossible. I called tech support and they said they've heard this complaint before, and yet since they don't provide their own software drivers, they cannot disable this "feature." - nice guy, but bad product planning.

Overall Review: Touchpad Tap - is a feature that is largely dependent on the specific touchpad manufacturer drivers - which allows for the turning-on and turning-off of this "feature" - if you are a standard typing skills person, you will disable this since your thumbs fall directly on the touchpad while typing correctly. People who "hunt & peck" will not notice this problem because they essentially don't type right and they don't have their hands in the standard position anyway (esp when they poke around with their index finger)

4 out of 5 eggsUgh

Pros: The keyboard seems like a decent keyboard. Using it in a datacenter on a crash cart. I read other reviews and was reluctant at first, but weighed all the pros/cons and went forward with the purchase.

Cons: None yet

Overall Review: Newegg has burned my company and again. First purchase was an open box item - HP office jet. Boss was in hospital so I couldn't install it for 4 weeks. When I installed printer (which looked brandnew in box) the printer ink heads were toast. Second gripe... I ordered matched set of memory and motherboard (server) and the two didn't work together. So, I bought another cpu and memory to suit. Board shipped DOA and they wouldn't refund my processor becuase I had opened the package... How did I know the board was defective. Third burn was on this keyboard. I bought thiis keyboard and it shipped DOA. Cleaning crew chunked the box it was in (fools). I tried to return it to newegg and they refused. Which I'm assuming means they were going to ship it to one of you!, because I went to Adesso and they were glad to replace the product. Newegg, I've done over 50k$ worth of business with you... I'd never thought I'd be writing a review like this.

3 out of 5 eggsconnectivity is intermittent

Pros: Great ergonomic design, nice weight and solid feel to it overall. Touchpad position and functionality is beautifully done-very responsive and accurate. KB has really nice tactile and quality feel to it, and editing keys are well laid out. Battery lasts many weeks with my HTPC/couch-surfing use.

Cons: Sometimes, even with charged batteries, the wireless "beam" looses connection to the USB receiver. Adjusting KB angle on my lap by a fraction of a degree restores the connection. This increases from a minor annoyance at times to downright frustration. Seems to be battery charge related, MOST of the time **but not always**. Sometimes on a perfectly fresh charge it will do this. I consider it bad enough that when the Adesso breaks I will not purchase another one.

Overall Review: Except for the beam dead-spot issue, I love this keyboard and would purchase again in a heartbeat. Even as such, it's lasted 4 years and still going strong, so I do not regret the purchase.

3 out of 5 eggsBest in a field of bad products

Pros: -Wireless doesn't disconnect
-Touchpad works fine
-Convenient as a wireless lap keyboard with mouse
-Keys feel OK

Cons: -Duplicates keystrokes!!! Lot's of typo's
-Everytime it wakes up (well almost everytime), it turns on num lock -- stupid!
-Wireless dongle looks like its from the 80's (HUGE)
-Not in the least bit ergonomic

Overall Review: -This seems to be the best wireless keyboard with touchpad product on the market, but it's not too good. You will typo like a crazy person if you use this to do any extensive typing.
-Not sure about range. I use this so I can sit a few feet further back from my desktop so I'm not far away at all (3 or 4 feet?). It has never disconnected from thiis distance.
-So far, battery life is good. Haven't changed them in nthe month+ that I have owned it and I worked at computer all day long.

3 out of 5 eggsMoving on

Pros: It's a wireless keyboard with an integrated touch and scroll pad. I bought it for my HTPC. Battery life is good.

Cons: Like another reviewer mentioned, the antenna only works well for me if you tilt it upward at about a 20d angle. Otherwise the keyboard misfires and is unusable. The mouse is also jumpy. This angling upward is required even though I'm only 6 ft away. The function key needs to be moved. It's not natural.

Overall Review: If I didn't have to tilt it off my lap every time I use it, I would have given it 4 stars.

4 out of 5 eggsThe Best

Pros: Small.

Exactly what I wanted for an HTPC keyboard. I have hundreds of compadres in the IT industry and have used dozens of HTPC combinations. I envisioned this product and googled to see if it was in existence. Found it and bought it. Had a wild ride getting to where I am now, but am thoroughly satisfied and convinced I have the BEST HTPC keyboard for media.

I do a lot of sys admin work with this thing and love it to death. I will admit, one time, when the battery was running low(read cons), it changed my shutdown option from log off to shutdown... Whoops!

Cons: First one was essentialy DOA. Sent it back to manufacturer, they said they would send me another. Waited 1 month, no keyboard. Contacted Manufacturer and they apologized and promised to send me another. Two days later, I received my keyboard. Two weeks later, I received a second keyboard. I called the company to let them know they sent me two, the said, 'because you were such a good customer, it's on us". Sweet!

Battery cover broke. Contacted Adesso... TWO Days later, two new battery covers.
Sweet!

Used to have all kinds of wierdness when battery power dropped below a certain level. Mainly inverted trackpad and weird touch recognition. Flipping the batteries generally helped. Bought 100 AC/Delco batteries from F(censored)ry's for 24.99$, put them in, issue has never replicated and the device seems to last 3x as long.
Perplexing and sweet!

You cannot type a research paper on this. It will misfire.

I tore off the home key because it drove me insane.

No on/of

Overall Review: If you have an HTPC with Boxee, netflix, vudu, pandora, grooveshark, etc., this will rock your world.

2 out of 5 eggsTerrible Keyboard

Pros: It did not take long to find out how cheap it was made so the Pros are NewEgg will take the thing back!

Cons: Wake-up time is way too long (will not wake from mouse touch only keyboard input)

The number lock is always on by default so every time you wake your keyboard you have to turn off the number lock to enter a password and log in.

All the pieces seem to snap together everything shifts around (IR sensor, the trim around the mouse pad , etc.)

It misfires letters or I am getting interference within 3 feet of the computer, tried rear and front USB ports.

1 out of 5 eggsYou Can't Change every Neighbor's Router Settings !

Pros: Laptop keyboard-like experience, accept for the touch pad

Cons: Touch pad glitchiness makes it useless. I'm calming down from the idea of breaking it over my knee and returning it today.
If reconfiguring the local wifi settings is all which is required to get the link to work "silky Smooth"... then I can't reconfigure every neighbor's router for 300 feet in every direction.
I'm going wired :\

Overall Review: Touchpad fails, to varying degrees, 40% of the time. I ran a few tests.
If I ever live far from any neighbors, I'll try this product again.

4 out of 5 eggsBuy It; only minor complaints

Pros: Just what I needed

Cons: -Mouse moves at 1/3 speed of my laptop mouse.
-When will they learn that there is NO NEED for an audible CLICK for any of the keys. The mouse buttons are excessively loud. This is non-ideal for meeting room use or while someone else in the room is trying to sleep,...
-Touch pad is a little tacky and a minor irritation to fingertip. I covered it with a sticky note. Hey, it works...

Overall Review: Upon 1st Connection:
-It switched left/right mouse key functions. Just had to change in mouse settings.

Other;
-Electric tape around receiver to block incessant Blinking.

5 out of 5 eggsI now own 2!

Pros: What can I say? I works! I now have two operating in two different rooms. The rooms are very close together and there is no crossover. My family room is about 30' by 20' and have no problem with distance. In the bedroom the receiver is in the back of th PC and on the floor, no problem their either. Great little keyboard

Cons: None yet. Had 1st over a year.

3 out of 5 eggspain to get it connected.

Pros: Light and condensed. Wireless. Keyboard + Mouse together. Once recognized by OS: works great.

Cons: 1) this product seems to have trouble being recognized by the OS on boot. It has required me to reset the USB RF adapter almost every time I boot the computer.
2) no On/Off switch for keyboard = drain of battery. This is a design flaw that should be corrected. My work-around is rechargeable batteries.

Overall Review: I use it as a single point interface for controlling my Media Center PC.

1 out of 5 eggsBarely usable

Pros: Good packaging. Lightweight. Sturdy.

Cons: Extremely directional (approx 20 vertical degrees of deflection, haven't tested horizontal deflection), so you must point it carefully at the USB receiver. Constantly in a state of "barely connected" with many missing keystrokes, re aiming, and retyping. Also, frequent inadvertent key repeating (acts like a stuck button). Same connectivity issue with mouse pad use, of course. The Fn key is where the Control key should be. The touchpad scroll bar is a good idea and useful, but so wide as to constantly be accidentally engaged (need to make it a narrow strip rather than 1/7th the width of the touchpad). One major quality defect is that the Backspace and the J key will jam in the up position. It feels like the mylar sheet under the keys shifts around to where the bottom of the key no longer lines up with the hole it needs to go through.

Overall Review: It *may* work well for some people, by chance, because of their particular circumstances. However, it's not a reliable general device I'd want to have to count on out of the box. I'm very tolerant and generally find some use for marginal equipment I end up with, but it's not worth the lost effort and time in this case. May actually end up boxing it, taking it apart to see if I can fix it, or just giving it to Goodwill. Someone there will be excited, until they try to use it for a while.

1 out of 5 eggsGood idea - bad execution

Pros: It's small. It has a track pad.

Cons: The ideal use for this keyboard would be for a HTPC. I've had this for a while now and having that USB receiver sticking out the front of the case because it doesn't receive the signal in the back makes for high stress when my daughter's playing in the living room.

Tracking on the pad is highly irritating compared to any decent laptop.

Seriously, why is the FN key the one in the lower left. For someone who uses a lot of CTRL- keyboard shortcuts, this is extremely irritating.

Pros: Bought this keyboard for occasional use on a spare pc I hooked up to my tv. Works real well for what i needed it for and was pretty cheap.

4 out of 5 eggsNice little keyboard

Pros: Lightweight, decent key layout, very similar to a conventional laptop keyboard.

Cons: I really wish the Func button and CTRL button in the lower left corner of the keyboard were swapped... or there was some way to re-map them. Aside from these two keys, the layout is exactly the same as my laptop, so that difference becomes a little annoying, although I usually adjust pretty quickly. Occasionally the signal gets a little weak but I just reposition and it's ok. Haven't tried to put the USB receiver on an extension yet, though, as recommended in other reviews.

Overall Review: Other reviews mention the touchpad being sensitive to inadvertent thumb contact. I really haven't found that to be the case, no more so than my HP laptop, but it really would be nice if there was a driver specific to this keyboard that would allow some more customization.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: This keyboard gives you the freedom to control your computer from almost anywhere. I was able to successfully get it to work some 50 feet or more away from the computer. The signal went through a couple of walls in my home without any problems. This keyboard allows me to control my HTPC from my arm chair exactly as I planned.

Cons: The keyboard is slightly smaller than my laptop keyboard, but not by much.

Overall Review: Others have indicated that the touchpad is too sensitive or that you can't turn it off which causes problems when typing. I found that it functions no differently than the touchpad on my laptop computer.

Others have also mentioned that they had to re-sync the keyboard each time that they used it. I have not experienced that behavior. What I have seen is the keyboard goes to sleep after no activity for awhile. To re-awake it you have to press any key. I use the space bar to re-awaken the keyboard and then it works just fine. You can tell that the keyboard is awake by looking for the mouse pointer on the screen.

All in all I am very pleased with this keyboard. I wouldn't purchase it to replace the regular keyboards on my other computers. However, I would recommend it for the purpose that I bought it for and that is to control my HTPC. It works fine and from a reasonable distance.

1 out of 5 eggsStay Away from this JUNK

Pros: Great idea, nice form factor, would be great for htpc.

Cons: Absolute Junk

-Poorly put together, falls apart. I don't think it's QC, just poorly made/designed
-terrible range.
-disconnects frequently

RMA'd the first one: Connected the dongle while sitting on the carpet next to the computer, reached over and placed the flat of my hand on the keyboard and slid it towards me. several keys popped off under my fingers. What are you kidding?
The range was about 6 ft, and disconnected every 2- minutes, requiring you to push the tiny button on the dongle to reconnect.

The Second one arrived yesterday. better range, but Junk again.
Kneeling on the carpet with keyboard on my lap, reached for the driver cd, and the board flipped over and landed on the carpet. It fell maybe 5-6" onto a rug with soft underpad. When I flipped it over, the touchpad had popped off. I was able to pop it back in, but I can hear something rattling around inside it.

Typing this, it skips about 1 in 20 keys I hit.

Overall Review: I'm so happy I get to pay return shipping twice on the piece of junk.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Great keyboard: small, includes touchpad, great feeling when using it.

Cons: I wish Ctrl was the lower left key instead of Fn (I rarely use Fn, but always use Ctrl).

I also wish it didn't include Windows keys, not everybody in the world uses Windows, and since this is a compact keyboard, adding such keys doesn't make sense. A blank piece of plastic like in the old days would be better.

For the price, it should include a USB extension cable with a stand, I am using one from another keyboard and it improves range reception dramatically.

Expensive, but I knew that when I bought it.

Overall Review: I'm using this on a home theater PC running Linux, and this keyboard is perfect for my occasional use and then stowing away.
It works right from the beginning of the boot process, so I can enter the BIOS.

Essentially a laptop keyboard which IMHO is the perfect balance of size and function for a HTPC. Light, thin and no larger than necessary while retaining full size typing keys.

The Touchpad works well for me without need of adjustment.

Wireless works flawlessly so far in my living room.

Does what I bought it to do which is provide wireless control of my Laptop HTPC from my sofa for web and video purposes. I don't need to type documents with it but do create and name folders with it.

Cons: Will not perform the Laptops Fn key combination to change VGA output to external screen but not a problem for me.

The touchpad is NOT disabled while you are typing like it would be on a Laptop. Touchpad specific adjustments that work for my Laptop touchpad DO NOT have any effect on this wireless touchpad.

For me the wireless touchpad works fine by default and does not need any adjustment though I would prefer that it would deactivate the touchpad while typing like the laptop touchpad does.

Overall Review: Using it with a Laptop which serves as my HTPC from time to time.

This wireless keyboard and touchpad is simple to use but read the directions so you know what you need to know. They are short and simple to understand.

1 out of 5 eggsDo they know what QC is?

Pros: Great form factor, wireless range - 1 Egg earned.

Cons: Broke after 8 months, the mouse pad went nutso. Sent back for RMA, GOT A REPLACEMENT THAT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL.
Lost 2 eggs.

Now I get to pay for shipping all over AGAIN and take more time to send back another piece of their junk.
Lost 2 eggs.

Let's hope the next one I get, now worth about $120 works properly.

Overall Review: Get your act together Adesso.

3 out of 5 eggsNot the best buy I've made

Pros: It's the perfect size and has a great design. Works on standard PS2 drivers.

Cons: The range on the box says 100 feet. Don't believe that. I had to run a USB extension to get it to work from about 15 feet, and it's still not great. For what I need it for, it works decently, but I was disappointed after paying $90 for it.

Overall Review: I would advise looking elsewhere.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: Not too expensive, not too big, not too small, not losing any signal.

Cons: no numpad ... but then, it would have been too big?

Overall Review: I'm using it in the living room, with a computer connected to my HDTV mostly for movies and music. I didn't want a full KB + a mouse, so this gadget does the job pretty well.
The computer is connected to my network with a USB adapter, plugged in right next the the keyboard usb receiver and I'm not having any issues with that setup either.

2 out of 5 eggsJunk after 10 months

Pros: Worked for 10 months. Was working well in that time.

Cons: Stopped working properly after 10 months - mouse pointer is going all over the place when I rest my palm on either side of the trackpad to type.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat!

Pros: works as advertised. The USB connector is connected behind my HTPC case in a cabinet and still works fine - excellent range.

Cons: You may have to press the FN key to get it to connect sometimes.

Overall Review: If you first don't get it to connect at the BIOS level. Connect it in windows. After this, it will work all the way from the bios level.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Media Center Keyboard

Pros: Great range, light weight, built in mouse

Cons: Receiver should be placed at the front of the computer for optimal performance

Overall Review: I use this as my primary keyboard/mouse for my media center and love it.

You need to press some keys to wake it up and sometimes move it around a little before the mouse works.

5 out of 5 eggsBest RF keyboard for me

Pros: This is simply the best keyboard for the money. I have been using this Adesso keyboard for 4yrs. The battery life seems to be better with with the newer keyboards. Before, I could only get a few days. Now, I think it will last for maybe two weeks.

Cons: Little children can really tear this keybiord up fast.

Overall Review: I never wanted to use the tracker ball type mouse. The mouse pad is very responsive.

5 out of 5 eggsTip: How to Disable the Scroller w\ KatMouse

Pros: Compact All-in-One
Works with my MAC and my XP box, even through my KVM USB port!! So I can KVM both OSes with the same device. Very cool.

Cons: 1) The touchpad scroller was irritating the heck out of me. Particularly on map websites. I tried a couple Synaptics & Glidepoint drivers, to no avail. (See other thoughts below for fix)
2) I hate the function key on the lower left, and the delete key on the upper right, but I guess I will adjust.
3) Small 2-4 second delay when KVMing from Mac to Xp, but hey it works ;)

Overall Review: 1) SCROLLER FIX - I downloaded a small mouse utility called KatMouse which allowed me to set the "wheel scroll settings" to Zero lines. That effectively turned off the scroll portion of the touchpad. Haven't tried it long, but so far so good. I hope this helps someone.
2) For those who said the keyboard won't wake from hybernation. Make sure in... Control Panel\Mouse Properties\Hardware\Properties\Power Management - you have "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby" CHECKED.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Just like using a laptop; no need for a mouse surface; small (in a good way); plug and play

Cons: Just like using a laptop (takes a little getting used to versus a standard desktop keyboard) not really a con just a personal preference

Overall Review: In regards to the people who mentioned "touchpad tap": if you type like a normal human being you will not have any issues. The only way it may be a problem is if you type with your feet.

5 out of 5 eggsfantastic product

Pros: Works as advertised. I'm using this keyboard/mouse as my "remote control" to my media PC. It is nice and compact being very similar to a laptop keyboard.
It is extremly thin!
Scroller on mouse pad works great (some laptops are finicky about where your finger is to activate the scrolling, this one thankfully is not)
Comes with a form fitting dust cover

Cons: Two very minor cons:
It took a few tries to mate the keyboard with the USB adapter. But it worked in the end.
The USB adapter is kinda long(~3") compared to other wireless USB adapters. So it sticks out of the computer quite a bit. My computer is in my home entertainment center in the back, so I don't care, but you may so I say it here.

Overall Review: Wish it had a few multimedia buttons like volume control, mute, my docs, and home page. Or at least some programable buttons. But the purpose of this product is a compact wireless keyboard/mouse, not a full fledged multimedia keyboard. So no harm there...

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

Pros: Very nice keyboard for HTPC. Also works better than expected for typing on a regular computer. Based on the other reviews I did not think it would be this good. Another reviewer mentioned you should hit the SHIFT key to wake this up and that is exactly right. I would recommend hitting the SHIFT key two times to wake it up. After that everything should work fine.

Cons: No cons so far, we'll see how the battery life is and how it works after some wear on it. So far, no complaints. I think it is well worth the price.

Overall Review: Perfect keyboard for HTPC, Use your computer for everything in your system and this can be your universal remote ;-) I also use this keyboard for when I work from home 1 day a week so on those days I type a lot on it and it works just fine.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice ergonomics. 2.4 Ghz frequency was attractive to avoid interference. Really wanted this to item to work.
Liked the integrated mouse pad.

Cons: Item was defective from the start. Several of the alphabet keys consistently produced the wrong characters. Made numerous attempts to reset and re-install according to the included instructions, but to no avail.

Overall Review: Was tempted to exchange but after spending so much time really lost confidence in this item. Now looking for a replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsLove It

Pros: Slim, sleek, and works great.

Cons: I have only had a couple of minor problems with it. The major one being that when I try to type fast and a word with 2 letters in a row (like Google) it sometimes doesn't catch both letters. Not a big deal though and easy to get used to.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent HTPC Keyboard

Pros: Compact, pretty light, good reasonable range, touch pad and plug -n- play operation.

Cons: A little pricey for what you get IMO, but it's been reliable. It takes a few seconds to wake up and I can't use it to bring my HTPC out of its sleep state no matter how I tweak my BIOS. So I have to go and press my power button. No big deal. The touch pad is either very sensitive or not responsive depending on if your fingers are too dry or not. If your fingers are overly dry, it's difficult to get the cursor to respond and I have to "breathe" on my index finger to make a better contact. When my finger isn't too dry, I found it too easy to select text and roll through menu drop downs when I want to move the cursor to another dialog box. Perhaps this is because the scroll area of the touch pad is too large or the pad itself is smaller than usual. These are minor complaints probably inherent in touch pad devices in general. So that's why I'd like to see more remote-control like funtions built into the unit

Overall Review: Having function keys that mimic a remote control device would be a nice touch. Functions that close or eject the optical disk drive, etc. would save the customer some $$ that have to buy a remote control or navigate through the to "My Computer", select "Eject". Again, not a big deal, but it would be a nice touch

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for a Media Center

Pros: It's great small keyboard for my media center. Great range.

Cons: It act weird sometimes when I try entering a numeric password when entering correctly and coming back as incorrect password. I just use my remote instead, so not huge deal.

Overall Review: Still a great little keyboard I'm happy with.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works just as other reviews indicated. Works fine well past 12 feet. Haven't needed to go past 20 feet really. It does go to sleep to conserve power. Tapping a key will wake it back up. I hit [CTRL] to wake it up since that won't actually type anything. Perfect for your livingroom media center computer. I have found none better or even close.

Cons: NONE

Overall Review: It doees have some unique key mappings that I haven't figured out when holding the [Function] key down. It doesn't have the numeric keypad of a full keyboard but hooking up a cheap USB keyboard when needed is no trouble.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks out of the box

Pros: Works fine, excellent for those who are used to typing on a laptop and wish to maintain the feel of the laptop keyboard on a desktop. Works out of the box with Linux (don't know about windows).

Has PgUp/PgDn etc. keys dedicated (as opposed to laptop keyboards that I've seen which typically require you to use Fn+ another keys. Most keys are spaced evenly and it doesn't come with a bunch of junk keys that I'd never use..

Cons: A bit expensive (although this is the first unit of its kind with a touchpad that I've bought), slow start-up time compared to other RF input devices that I've used, but the difference is minimal. It can get a tad frustrating when trying to relink it - but it's probably there to preserve battery power.

There is no horizontal scroll function that I know of, or if there is, it doesn't work out of the box. I would have liked it at this price.

Overall Review: Overall this is a fine product for those who'd like some portability or versatility with their input devices. This now allows me to recline on my chair, raise my feet on the desk, and type - as opposed to having me slouched over.

Get this if you need this. You won't regret it!

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well, some getting used to (Solved numlock issue)

Pros: Compact, good transmission range, scrolling touchpad works well.

Cons: USB Dongle is a bit big, no numlock indicator or touchpad adjustments, left and right "mouse" buttons a bit crude, delete key in odd location.

Overall Review: Using this with Vista Premium. When logging on to my account (either after boot up or after logging off my or someone else's account) keyboard would be in numlock. I'd have to turn of numlock or it wouldn't take my password (part of which coincided with the number pad keys.)

This is an issue several folks have mentioned on this and other forums. Some say it can't be solved, but this worked for me. Use regedit and change the following:

Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard

Find this parameter:
InitialKeyboardIndicators

And change it to 0.

In my case it was a large number (like 275452) which Microsoft says is the same effect of 0, but I changed it to 0 and the problem went away. No more frustration and numlock is no longer a problem.

Battery life seems pretty good too. Just be sure to store it in such a way that nothing impinges on the keyboard.

3 out of 5 eggsExcellent second sample

Pros: Very nice touch including trackpad. Works fine with Vista. No driver included or needed (but see 'Cons'). Perfect for use with a media PC.

Cons: Refuses to be consistently recognized by Vista after resuming Windows from hibernation. Resolution requires either hibernating and resuming again or unplugging USB receiver and plugging it into a different USB port. This issue is certainly due to an unhappy Vista/hardware marriage. If Adesso would publish a driver, it would help mediate this. At this point fussing with the USB Root Hub power settings in Device Manager or with bios settings has not helped the situation.

Overall Review: 1st sample had a good deal of flex at the region of the spacebar and the 'g' 'h' 'b' 'n' keys. It sounded like the keyboard was hitting the bottom cover. A plastic hitting plastic sound. The second sample was fine. Newegg handled the exchange at their expense. Definitely first class service.

5 out of 5 eggsI really like it

Pros: Lightweight
No driver to install
Works Well

Cons: No driver-- less customizable
Limited installation instructions
Occasional dropped keystrokes

Overall Review: This is an awesome keyboard/mouse combo for a home theater or media center pc. It is cool to be able to relax and use the computer from a long distance, kind of like a laptop with a huge screen.

The set up of the device was a little tricky. There was no installation CD, and only limited instructions. In my case, I had to remove the drivers for my old keyboaed and mouse. In the instructions, it tells you to remove the old drivers, but doesn't explain how.

For a person with limited computer skills, that could have been a challenge.

I find the keyboard and mouse comfortable to use. It is just like a laptop setup. I have not had any problems with touchpad tap or scrolling like some have reported.

It would be nice if there were a custom driver to adjust things like touch sensitivity and the size of the scroll bars, etc. like you get with your laptop touchpads.

As far as signal transmission, I have had no problem with interference from WiFi or telephones.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Both the keyboard and mouse are integrated into the same product. The product is also very light weight compared to similar products.

Cons: The touchpad doesn't respond after long periods of inactivity. To get it to respond again, you need to push one of the keyboard buttons.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat media center keyboard!

Pros: RF wireless design doesn't require line in sight like an IR device. Excellent layout and build quality makes you feel like you are on a laptop. Trackpad is a great touch, includes a scroll bar too.

Cons: USB Dongle could have been a bit shorter...

Overall Review: I bought this device to use on a Media Center computer. It is a great touch for the computer i built strictly as an appliance. They keys hit great and type fast just how i like it. It's small and sturdy and very lightweight. With lithium batteries, it will probably take a very long time to drain them.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat HTPC Keyboard

Pros: Small size, equivalent to a laptop keyboard. Works great from the couch. Maybe the best HTPC keyboard at this price.

Cons: Some keys are dropped occasionally. Sometimes responds choppy as though signal is lost or interference is present.

Overall Review: Changed in-home wi-fi to channel 11 as some have suggested. Seemed to help but not entirely fix the interference. Also placed the RF receiver on a USB extension cable. Be sure to disable numlock in Windows otherwise typing can get frustrating because alpha keys double as numeric keys when numlock is on.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

Pros: Purchased this keyboard to use with my PC that runs my Navigation system in my motor home. Installation was simple, just plug in the usb receiver, push the little gray button on it and it's working. The keyboard size is just right. It's like having a laptop, but without the screen. It has a nice area to rest the heal of your hands when typing. The wife even likes it.

Cons: The scroll part of the mouse pad is very touchy (just like my HP laptop). I used Tweakui to turn off the 'wheel' feature of the mouse pad.

The batteries seem to last about a week with heavy use.

Overall Review: I'm not a gamer, so I can't comment on the use of this keyboard for that. But for average use it works fine.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

Pros: Light weight, great compatibilty, good range, small size. Plug and play operability with openSuSE Linux 10.2. Scroll bar in trackpad.

Cons: Unusual layout, small size, no keypad

Overall Review: I am a linux fan, and it is often a chore to find compatible hardware when the compatibility lists are not complete. I was worried that this keyboard would be a pain in the rear to configure, if I ever got it going at all. I followed the instructions included, and there was not even a stutter before the device functioned properly and fully. Also functions flawlessly with windows and osx. If you don't mind condensed, laptop style keyboard, this is a great option.

5 out of 5 eggsWireless Combo Keyboard Mouse

Pros: Wanted a combo keyboard/touchpad mouse to use while sitting on the couch with our new system I just built. This unit is light, small, and just the thing to use on your lap. The scroll on the touchpad marked by the blue is easy to use and works great.

Cons: Uses 4 AAA batteries. I think AA are better and last longer. The batteries that came with the unit appeared to not work. The unit responded right away after I put fresh batteries in. Does not have a separate numeric keypad. That means turning NUM LOCK off from the board.

5 out of 5 eggsGlowing Review

Pros: excellent range, no dropped keys, long battery life, good response on the integrated touchpad, touchpad designed out of all human typing positions, light, attractive, stowable; basically, everything

Cons: If you hide the USB receiver behind a lot of equipment and wood, as I tried to, you'll have some line-of-sight issues, even given the RF signals. This can lead to a couple of dropped keys, though is ridiculous.

Overall Review: I don't know what to say, other than that I was so impressed, I bought four of them.

5 out of 5 eggsBest HTPC

Pros: Great Media Center PC keyboard/mouse. Works from far away w/ no missed key strokes. Small, light, and accurate.

Cons: The touchpad buttons have an unconventional sound and feel but you get used to it fast.

Overall Review: Too many complaints about this thing because they havent done research.
1 - Buy good rechargeable batteries.(I use energizer 900 mah)
2 - There is no separation in between the touchpad and scrollbar. So I used some clear protective cover I brought for my iPod, cut a thin strip(about 1 mm wide) and stuck it in between the scrollbar and touchpad. So now I feel the separation w/ my fingertip. Easy problem w/ an easy fix.

5 out of 5 eggsVery pleased

Pros: Break the display off of a 14" laptop and this is what you'll have. I'm using this for a Media Center keyboard in my living room on a 42" and it works great. I bought it for the touch pad and the RF, one of the only products I could find that had these features. The RF works great, even in the next room. The product is a good size and perfect for my application.

Cons: When I set up the keyboard, some of the keys either would not work or were typing the wrong keys. I had to default the keyboard by pressing a sequence of keys, which I found on the manufacturers web site. No prob though. I also wish that I did not have to re-learn the keyboard every time that I power down the pc. This is still a great product though.

5 out of 5 eggsFinally, someone got this correct!

Pros: No driver, plug and play. Works from realistically (other wireless, DVD, DVR, huge receiver, microwave, ~10 PC's, plasma TV) 50 feet! Mouse included in the package.
I build a lot of media PC for people who have a lot of disposable and I was buying the more expensive Gyr@tion keyboards for the coolness factor and giving the caveat that the keyboard needed to be within ~10 feet to work. NO MORE OF THAT. This Adesso is a total champ. Easy, fast, bullet-proof, and it does exactaly what you want from a keyboard like this. Solid and dependable performance.

Cons: It does cost a good bit...

Overall Review: Don't buy anything else, this is the best option out there. And batteries last a long time.

5 out of 5 eggsWYSIWYG

Pros: Great response, no interference from wireless network. Light and attractive. The perfect solution for those making a HTPC but don't want to reduce their control to a goofy remote or overeager software.

Cons: Some might consider the lack of customizable buttons a con. I wouldn't. USB dongle prevents waking from the keyboard also. Pad can serve as a double click which can be a nuisance if you aren't careful.

Overall Review: I recently switched to a laptop and made a HTPC project out of my ATX desktop materials, with a few upgrades. If you are considering doing this, I highly recommend Silverstone's cases and heatsinks, Nvidia's PureVideo codec for DVDs, MediaMonkey, and THIS KEYBOARD. Right out of the box it is singing and hasn't stopped. No drivers needed. It is light and small, about the size of a detached 13" notebook's bottom half. The batteries last very long because after about 10 minutes it goes into its own standby. Coming out of standby is fast as well. Highly recommended, I am very happy with this item.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Excellent rang and angle, batteries that came with it didn't die yet after 3 months, accurate touch pad. not too big so you can put it out of the way.

Cons: flimsy feeling, I'm afraid to sit on it and break it. the scroll bar on the touch pad seems over sensitive and goes off without intention.

Overall Review: the only practical wireless keyboard with touch pad. I wish it had a real num pad.
uses just a simple usb connection that looks similar to a large thumb drive.
I wouldn't use this as a desktop or workstation keyboard, but it's great for my media box.

5 out of 5 eggsperfect for media center

Pros: small, light, no need to install driver. it just works!!

Cons: mouse button click sound is loud. At some point I felt very annoying. I, in fact, try not to use this keyboard in the night when my wife is sleeping in the bed room (and while I was using this in the living room) It's that loud. Little bit difficult to move mouse cursor with the touch pad. It's somewhat not very smooth.

3 out of 5 eggsa little to much $$$

Pros: Its small, thin, and light... no drivers to set up (real plug and play)... covers 75 feet easy, from my own testing with no problems (however the box says it covers up to 100 feet.) i wouldnt be surprised if it did, i just didnt have the chance to go that far.

Cons: cheap build quality... They could have used a more durable plastic... the scrolling sensor on the track can be annoying at times, if you happen to touch it by mistake while moving the "black arrow".

Overall Review: not to many mini keyboards with track pads out to choose from.

Pros: It is perfect for a mythTV HTPC. I plugged this in while booting from Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy and it worked right from the start. No drivers, it just works.

Cons: It loses a star because the output can be a litte sporadic when my 2.4ghz wireless network is really working.

Pros: Nice size, good wireless range, good keyboard feel. It's very light and convenient to use while sitting on my bed across the room from my computer, which is what I got it for.

5 out of 5 eggsDoesn't Get Much Better Than This!

Pros: Everything.

Cons: Nothing.Ok...maybe a little pricey. But, Figure you're getting a wireless mouse(pad) with a wireless keyboard (or vice-versa). It also would be nice to have a caps-lock l.e.d. indicator.

Overall Review: Man, I am movin' and groovin' with this thing! I was using a handheld wireless device with integrated joystick that made for clumsy and awkward navigation on my HTPC/50" LCD HDTV. Now, I can navigate AND type with ease. I like the laptop-style finger pad which also has (vertical) scroll. Range is good for me as I sit only about 9 feet away from my HTPC. I have the USB receiver plugged into the back of the PC and still get good response. I love this thing! I just hope the reliability/longevity factor is high.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat choice for HTPC

Pros: Works right out of the box with no drivers, didn't even have to reboot after plugging in the USB receiver.

Cons: Wish it were rechargeable. We use it almosts every night, and it went through a set of batteries in about a month. It takes 4 AAA batteries, so replacing them every month isn't too much of a chore, but rechargeable batteries would be a nice improvement.

5 out of 5 eggsMy Media PC is now COMPLETE!

Pros: Light weight, but very sturdy. It is very, very similar to a laptop keyboard, but feels more versatile due to the fact that there is not a laptop connected to it. Excellent installation. Plug in the receiver to your USB and you're off and running!

Cons: NONE whatsoever! I strongly recommend this keyboard for Media PC users out there.

Overall Review: I built a media PC with Windows Media Center Edition over a year ago. Since that time, I still kept my Tivo due to some conveniences like the remote. I have installed Beyond TV (excellent Tivo substitute!) and have the Firefly remote. The remote works good for the Beyond TV, but lacked in use for the other functions of my media PC. So, I looked for a keyboard and found this one. Let me tell you, I have been using it for 1/2 hour now and it is awesome! The keyboard is light, yet sturdy. I am sitting on my couch writing this review right now! I absolutely recommend it. It's the best money I have spent yet on my Media PC!

2 out of 5 eggsdouble key hell

Pros: i posted another review on this when i first received this product, it's nice and serves its purpose in the beginning

Cons: i've used several wireless input devices in the past, and while they are all slightly erratic, none of them quite match up to the hell i've gone through with this. firstly it has a slow wake up time. it takes about 20 seconds or so to wake up (not 10). you will also have erratic cursor movements randomnly (i thought it was due to batteries, but that is not the case necessarily); the only thing that seems to solve it is to remove the adapter and replace the batteries (i.e. even if they are working, you need to take them out and put them back in). it also managed to lock up my entire USB hub (this is not a direct power issue, as i thought).

Double keys are rampant lately as well. I never had this problem before - but it started about a week ago, and i've tried this on a few different computers and operating systems just to verify that this is the case. it will randomly enter double keys, especially the space bar.. (cont'd. in "other thoughts")

Overall Review: ..which is perhaps the most annoying for me.

I expect input devices to be the least bothersome, since without input, a desktop computer is virtually worthless. One would expect that for an obviously overpriced piece of equipment you would at least get something that will last for over a year.

However I think the adapter itself is at fault. It gives usb errors 110 and 32, which I think would be impossible if only the keyboard was to blame.
