2 out of 5 eggsBad luck

Pros: Well ordered 5 put 2 in my DS 1512+ and the second one reported smart errors. Didn't both putting the rest in seeing as though I just returned 5 WD red edition drives for the same reasons. Tired of bad drives and they always come from the egg.

Cons: You know I've been purchasing drives for of 15 years and the egg is the only place I bought them from that I've had issues with them. I'm tired of drives arriving loose packed in a box wrapped in bumble wrap. This is not the correct shipping method for drives.

Other Thoughts: If you go to the manufacturers website and look at the shipping requirements for their drives. It says that shipping in unapproved containers can void the warranty. Wow if the manufacturers only saw how the eggs is shipping their drives, end users would not have a warranty. Just a shame!

3 out of 5 eggsJust Ordered

Pros: Just ordered 5 of these to place in my Synology DS1512+. I originally ordered the WD Red but 2 of those failed in less than 1 week. I was tossed between these and the WD RE 4TB drives and decided to go with these based on a couple of performance reviews a read on some tech sites. I will follow up with a full review once I've has time to test the drives.

Cons: None yet hope they work better than the last set of WD Red drives I purchased from the Egg.

Other Thoughts: It was expensive purchasing 5 of these drives but I needed them and when data integrity is of the utmost importance don't skimp. The saying you pay for what you get is never more evident when it comes to storage.

3 out of 5 eggsdon't own it but want it

Pros: refering to the above comment if you take the name of the drive Seagate Constellation ES.3 ST4000NM0033 4 and google it you would know that it's a sata drive pay no attention to people that have no common sense if you wanna know what something is google a part or model number

Cons: 407.99 i know it has 128 mb cache but 407.99 come on average price per gig is about 50 cents because it's 128 mb cache up the price per gig by a nickle and i bet they still turn a profit

Other Thoughts: my personal opinion is seagate is putting out better drives then wd these days and if seagate wants more customers they need to put there prices a bit lower then the competition but not so low that they lose money if you build it and price it right people will come.

3 out of 5 eggsSAS or SATA?

Pros: big, long warranty

Cons: newegg product details don't say whether this is a sata or sas drive. if it was a sas drive and you have a sata controller, you wasted your time/money
