The SYBA SI-PEX40094 SATA III PCI-e Controller Card gives you an easy way to add additional two internal SATA III ports to your computer, through a single PCI Express (x1) card slot. The SATA III ports offer a blazing-fast speed 6Gbps, while remaining backward compatible with the SATA I and SATA II specifications. And, this card supports Port Multiplier, allowing you to easily connect more HHDs/SSDs at once.
Additionally, this card is bootable, and boasts hot plug and hot swap functions. You can use two cards at the same time. The included low-profile bracket makes installation in compact cases a breeze.

The SYBA SI-PEX40094 SATA III PCI-e controller card adds two internal SATA ports to a computer system, allowing you to easily connect two additional HDD/SSD drives*. And, the SATA III ports are compliant with Serial ATA AHCI Spec. Rev. 1.3, and Serial ATA Rev. 3.0.
Note: * Drives connected, may need to be initialized. Each SATA port can only support one HHD/SSD connected.

The SATA III ports deliver a blistering fast data transfer speed of up to 6Gbps, letting you transfer monstrous amounts of data in seconds. They are also backward compatible with SATA I (1.5Gbps) and II (3Gbps) device connections, eliminating the expense of having to upgrade your drives.

By using Port Multiplier, this card can support four or more HHDs with one SATA port for Windows OS.

This card supports Native Command Queue (NCQ), allowing hard disk drives to internally optimize the order in which received read and write commands are executed. This can reduce the amount of unnecessary drive head movement, resulting in increased performance.

This card supports hot plug and hot swap functions. Simply plug it into your computer system, and it’s ready to work.

The SYBA SI-PEX40094 PCI-e controller card is compliant with PCI-Express specification V2.0, and backward compatible with PCI-Express 1.x. It’s also compatible with Software RAID.

With the included low-profile bracket, this card can be effortlessly installed into any size of desktop computer.
Pros: no drivers needed with windows 10, installed and booted up and she just works.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: two of my motherboard SATA ports died, so this was a life saver.
Pros: Cheap
Cons:
- Wouldn't recognize any drive attached to either SATA port.
- Driver Disc that came with it is useless. Drivers were more than 4 years old. Disc has drivers for lots of different products. A small note on the back of the instructions in size 4 font says which driver to install. It failed to install. Downloaded updated driver from sybausa.com, which got Windows 10 to recognize the card.
- Tried different power and data cables, connected known good drives that are recognized by the motherboard SATA ports, no good. Wouldn't recognize any drive attached to it.
- Didn't get around to installing it till the return window had expired, so I'm out $.
- Spent 2 hours trying to get this card to work. Waste of time as well as money.
Other Thoughts: Disappointed.
Pros: Bootable CD drives. Easy to install.
Cons: Two sata cables would have been nice.
Other Thoughts: The sticker on the package is SI-PEX40094, but the box graphics says iocrest, not Syba.
Pros: Does what it should
Cons: Only pcie 2.0 x1. This could be important for you ...
Other Thoughts: Works great. I just wouldn’t connect 2 x SSDs to it as you’d be choking its pcie connection. You’re only getting around 500MB/s at the board. So 2 x HDDs, no problem. 2 x SSDs could be hurt IF they’re both ever transferring simultaneously.
Pros: Not sure did not get to test it yet.
Cons: Make sure your expansion slot is gen 2. if not you will not get full speed!
Other Thoughts: I am sure i can find another use for this and already put the free SATA cable to use...
Pros: I can never get enough SATA ports, and this adds two more, just enough for what I needed.
Cons: One of the plastic pieces in the center of the plug broke off. It still worked, and when I upgraded, it still worked.
Other Thoughts: This is a cheaper card, but works well. I would recommend it if you need an extra SATA or two.
Pros: - Cheap
Cons: - Technically capped at 500 MiB/s by PCIe 2.0 1x
Other Thoughts: There are no other cards at this price point that are any better for software RAID, proven reliability by 45Drives.

Pros: Didn't work so can't comment on pros.
Cons: Didn't work with my motherboard
Other Thoughts: I basically bought this card because I thought it was the less of two evils. My video card is big and thick and covers up the sata ports on my motherboard, plus the video card slot latches in and you can't even see the latch or really get to it because the video card covers it up too. Also when install/uninstall cards the motherboard flexes a little bit and sometimes the surface mount parts don't like that. So I thought I'd get this SATA card, just plug it in to a PCIe slot, hook up my hard drives and be done quick and easy. Well it didn't turn out that way, I read the SATA manual several times, the mother board manual and got new drivers from asmedia and couldn't get it to work. After about two hours I decided I wasn't using my time efficiently and just uninstalled/re-installed the video card and used the ports on the motherboard. Now I know I had the cables to the hard drive hooked up properly because I just unplugged the cables from the SATA card and plugged them into the motherboard ports and the hard drives were recognized right away. So the cables, connections weren't the problem or the drives.
I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because I didn't troubleshoot the problem completely and the card may be good. There was never any smoke or anything out of the ordinary when I had it installed. It's possible that I missed a setting in the BIOS but the BIOS never recognized it at all and I never tried another PCIe slot. The one thing that concerns me though is the card came in a clear plastic bag instead of an anti-static one. Plus the card may just not be compatible with my motherboard. So the verdict is still out.
I will take a loss on this because I got it on sale, so it's not worth going thru the hassle of returning it over a few bucks. Hope yours works better.
