- First time computer build from scratch guy here. All the parts went together very easily. CPU,GPU,SSD, and so on fit together very smoothly. I have an old graphics card that overheats without the AMD application. Normally, this causes massive issues for me when changing OS etc due to overheating and can never get through to main screen. This motherboard experienced this issue as well, but it automatically shut off the graphics card, bipassed it, and allowed the onboard graphics to take over for the OS install, technology!

It worked with my 9800x3d right out of the box. Turning on AMD Expo for my RAM was super quick in the BIOS settings with no issues. The built-in WIFI is stellar and holds a great signal even though my router is on a different floor. This review is for the MSI Review Rebate Program

Best layout among competing motherboards. A 2-slot width GPU still allows use of x1 PCIe in addition to the other x16. This allowed mounting a 10Gbps network card on the x1 (albeit max at 7Gbps) and a U.2 NVMe on the other x16 slot. The M.2 slots are all exposed. That means, mounting U.2 NVMe's on the M.2 slots is possible. I mounted a U.2 Optane for OS and caching to the hard drives on one of the slots. This setup is not possible with Gigabye, Asus, and MSI micro-ATX boards. These competing motherboards have either 1 or both of their M.2 slots underneath the PCIe cards! The slots have open ended notches that allows longer x16 card to be mounted on the x1 slot, for example. The BIOS features is extensive. Bifurcation is possible on the PCIe. Runs Ryzen 9 7950x with ease. EXPO setting on a GSkill 6000Mhz CL30 is running excellent. Supports ECC memory. Nice. I paired it with an A6000 GPU for a true creative workstation setup.

Board is stout and seems very well built. The layout is easy to work with and plenty of IO available. The system posted on the first try after assembling the system. Enabling XMP worked without issues and got the memory timings as advertised on my RAM. Having four available M.2 slots is nice and all slots have a heat sink available which is a nice touch.

Solid performer

It's been 10 years since I built my last computer (FX 8350). I thought this board went in easily. My glitch, operator error, was that I couldn't get it to post, even though it had power. Staring and scrutinizing both the board and the book and I found that the indicator light, showing yellow (a + for it here) was indicating a RAM problem. The issue was resolved when I moved RAM DIMMS from slots 1 & 3 to 2 & 4. No issue since. I installed a Ryzen 9 7900X3D on it, and it is working with 64G RAM. I'm not gaming with it, but MS Office stuff and do create VMs on it for work... lightning fast and no issues. No CPU heat issues, 35 to 55 C -- 65 to 70 C under load.

Ordered day before. Paid for overnight shipping and even though they were having website issues they still got it sent out and delivered. Newegg is the best.
