I bought 2 Seagate 2 TB drives which were not on the Synology recommended list. During setup it complained about the drives, but I installed then anyway in a Raid 1 configuration. The performance is just great. I can transfer data to the NAS much faster than my older NAS. The file system allows me to set folders that mirror the structure of my computer which makes backup run very smoothly.

So easy to setup physically and soft. Enought apps for my needs (Streaming movies) With a WD red in it, was able to stream over Wi-Fi and copyng large files at the same time on it. Silent Robust construction No compatibility limitations compare to... tried to give Ugreen a try and I was really impressed.

Cost is the biggest thing. I've had one for 8 months and yet to have a problem. It holds 4 drives and isn't too loud. Hot-swap doesn't matter to me (99.5% uptime is sufficient for my needs) and it's not shown itself defective.
