I'm a long time sound blaster user, going back to the ISA cards mid 90's. Loved the SB Live and XF-I cards. When I was migrating from the XF-i cards to the newer gen sound blasters I went with a Z card initially, I hated it. I went right back to the tried and true SB XF-I cards that I loved, they just work. They stopped selling them so I got adventurous again got this sound blaster Audigy RX. The problem with the Z card was that it was just too complicated for its own good. If you have several hours and want to tweak the EQ and make it sound good, knock yourself out. But I prefer the old fashioned works out of the box with slight adjustments to the standard windows Bass/Treble etc controls. The RX fits the bill and sounds almost exactly like the XF-I cards I loved. I had two computers setup and hooked up to the same speakers, one setup through and XF-I the other through an RX and just bounced back and forth between the two on a single track, and I could hardly tell a difference. There are some new features with the RX though, which is good. A few minutes of setup and it was perfect. Very clear sound blaster audio like I expect. Been using them for 20+ years and I love it when they get it right.

Plug and play unlike its predecessor card the AE-5 it doesn't need any additional wires going to it it's a total plug and play card on the Motherboard. And even though it isn't advertised it does have a little bit of lighting effects. The remote plug for headphones and microphones allows several types and sizes to plug into it! Downloadable Software offers a lot of options for gamers and broadcasters alike!

I brought this because my mother board sound card was dying and was unable to install an internal card due to my graphics card being mounted vertically in my case preventing access to the card slots. This little device was easy to connect and use having noticeably better sound quality than the original mother board audio before it developed issues.

Comes with low profile bracket. Sound is great compared to onboard sound component.

High quality product. The sound is amazing. I have upgraded from a Sound blaster Z series. That was great. But this one is something else. I am happy with my purchase.

For years I had gotten away from addon soundcards as onboard sound had been getting better and better. I have a Yamaha sub woofer and Bose speakers and I had been noticing with each newer build I was less and less happy with sound on my desktop system. Weak thin sound finally got to me so I bought this card and was reminded why I bought my sub woofer and speakers, the sound is so rich and full, better than I ever remember it sounding! Bas that can peel wallpaper off walls and rich full sound makes you feel you are right there at a concert hall!

This card is great. It gives beautiful playback quality and with the handy pci-e interface it makes it a nice fit into the system. I have owned this card since around the time it came out and it hasn't failed me.
