- Easy to install - It uses x8 instead of x16 PCIE slots - super easy plug n play with no manual driver installation

Always need space :) I have built a system that rocks .. so far 7 hard drives. 1 SSD. Will be adding bigger hard drives soon like 26bTB either 5 to 10 of them will be fine.

Blazing Fast Download Speeds with my on board port I was maxing at 20-25Mb/s with this I'm getting the full scope of my ISP

Maybe a Necessity if You Have a USB-C on Front Panel Header because no USB 3.2 GEN1 connector on motherboard. The PCI-E 1X to USB 3.2 GEN1 5Gbps 20pin Front Panel Header allows you to connect the USB-C front panel header to your PCI-E 1X slot

- Was able to just plug and play with existing drives/cables/ZFS pools facilitating the update on my home server/NAS system. - Performance seems as good/better than with old MoBo - No Linux issues

plenty of ports. works well and didn't have to install drivers. windows did all the work. well built.

Even on an older motherboard it was still detected.

Easy to setup. Works well. Comes with all required screws

- Ultimately works and does what it claims to do - Depending on your GPU displayPort I/O, can upgrade fully to Thunderbolt DP

I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to install the correct drivers as I don't have a disc drive on this pc. but windows was able to get it done without me doing anything.

Works perfectly. Plugged it in, plugged in the power, turned on the PC, booted it up, and Win7 recognized it and installed the drivers. Didn't have to do anything. Started using my multichannel DAC fed from it immediately.

Has a very silent background when listening to music using my outboard firewire DAC. Very nice. Seems extremely stable. No dropouts or strange sounds. Listening to Pink Floyd Momentary Lapse of Reason "Dogs of War" right now.

This is not a sound card.

But you can feed a fire-wire sound-card or workstation DAW or DAC with this fire-wire unit. It has a TI chipset too which is very good for some picky DAW's. My Echo Audiofire 8 isn't picky, but I got this one just in case I ever needed the superior TI chipsets.

Works great! Sounds great! Great value. Unit felt decently built too. Just make sure to plug the power into the unit before you attempt to power the PC on as you could burn out the power regulators on the board or burn out your PCI-E slot.
