Have been using Isobar metal surge suppressors along with other supressor designs (non-MOV) for over 15 years. I have seen the Isobars in action. A friend's house was hooked up 'incorrectly' at the pole, and everything electric in the house was destroyed, including the refrigerator and stove. That was no everyday "surge"; it was a voltage onslaught. The surviving equipment: stereo rack, which was hooked to the isobar. The isobar was a charred crisp inside. Stereo rack components: all in perfect condition.
