-Takes maybe 6 seconds to spin up when it's been idle, great read/write speed (~100mb/s extracting a giant zip archive from a separate SSD) -Makes the dying cow noise when your PC shuts off which I find amusing
Overall it performs very well in my RAID configuration. The 64mb cache really helps it compared to my older 32mb cache drives. I mean....it's a hard drive and it works.
-Good drive and reads better than other drives that are platter based. -Fast loading times on games and media and programs in general.
Good price 12gb interface Works well so far in my Adaptec raid 5
I have many of these and get decent IOPS out of these.
For Synology NAS users, the Synology brand drives means easier adoption, less headaches and fewer notifications. The extra small pennies/gb price per GB over other enterprise drives with worth it. No need to worry about compatibility with many features of DSM 7.1
Was able to make a full 4tb partition using Ubuntu 18.04. (link below for guide) Size + Price + Enterprise = good buy
