Simple to just pop right in and set up. Works as any hard drive should. Using it as my main storage drive with an SSD as my boot drive. I'm sure a lot of people haven't bought this drive due to lack of ratings/reviews, Which is almost why I didn't buy it but for the storage and its being a 6.0gbs, hard not to just go for it. Happy I did zero issues fast and speedy.

Updating my review! I bought these around mid Sept 2015 for new build, they replaced 5 older WD drives 10years or older and (even these drives are still working today & used 160GB to 500GB drives)... These are fastest and best mechanical drives I have used to date, works excellent with SSD as main OS drive. I bought 2x 1TB drives to start and a kingston SSD 120gb ssnow the i6700k chewed some budget up but these drives were meant for storage, graphics, gaming. I have since retired from gaming pretty much, now they serve insanely well for Home Media Server (Emby) producing read/write speeds around 200 MBPS I later purchased a 5TB WD Black same performance hands down the best, I think it is a toss up for a NAS / Media Server choice between these and the NAS Reds with "Dual Processors" these are hard to let go of once used, since move to windows 10 I have seen them top out over 200mbps and my SSD spike in transfers to them @ 1.4 gpbs throughout the entire transfer almost 90% +

Reliable Cost-effective only when on sale. Runs cool.

Good price 12gb interface Works well so far in my Adaptec raid 5
