This is a nice, simple, compact and stout little switch! I cannot begin to tell you how nice it is to have a few of these laying around, you'll never know when you might need to have more than one connection... If you have a small business or house hold with more than two "wired devices" (networkable, i.e., Game Console, BluRay Player, Ruku, Tivo, etc) it just makes sense to have this. Plug and Play with no issues! The big pro's in my opinion are that this switch is made of metal, so it's GOING TO LAST. The manufacture must think so too, as they are standing behind it with a 2 YEAR WARRANY (most come with 1 year). (For the record, I have used and still have LOTS of TP-Link devices and they all work very well and the company stands behind their products) For the price, this is a no-brainer, I don't think I mentioned that it didn't burn my hands like some switches do... There are going to be times when you need extra ports in an office or by a TV with add on devices. This little switch makes that happen and it runs cool. Testing under load (streaming HD video) the switch was only warm to the touch. Most computers built in the last 5 years are more than likely going to have a Gigabit Ethernet Port, so you might as well take advantage of a switch like this if you are still running an older 100 Base-T switch. You'll see a BIG improvement in file transfer performance around 100mb a second transfers (or slightly more) at least, that is what my average was. Smaller files like documents were slower, not really the problem of the switch however...

Cheap and reliable -- it's Netgear! I got this switch because I just setup a Linux file-server in my house. Since I wished to access virtually all my files remotely I needed fast file access and that meant upgrading my home network to gigabit. I simply plugged in the switch and everything worked great. It detects that my file-server and main machine are gigabit and also that the upload port ,which is fed by an old router I have, is 100Mbit. This switch definitely holds its own, and at this price how can you beat it?

Works as advertised and had no issues with autonegotiating speeds on interfaces with Google Fiber's provided equipment (an issue I had read about in reviews for other boxes which I was concerned about). Get full speed.

Fast performance and PoE+/++ out of the box! Small footprint and overall a performance beast for my network
