Great Gaming Performance Easy Overclocking and Boost Power Efficient Doesnt run hot
Significant improvement over my previous i7 3770.
It's an expensive CPU. The 9800X3D is still and excellent choice. Since I was upgrading from a 32 core 13900K I did not want to lose out on the productivity performance so that is why I chose the 9950X3D.
- I am using an air cooler, and the system runs very quiet and smooth. - Cinebench R23 easily passes 35,000 multicore and 2,271 single-core without overclocking
4.7 ghz base clock
The Ryzen 7 5800XT is a great upgrade from a Ryzen 5 3600X on the AM4 platform. CPU cooler is included. Great performance for the price.
Big performance jump from my 8086k like I expected. Works like it's supposed to, as far as I can tell, and doesn't run too hot.

- It's a new AMD cpu. With this being said, I do 100% agree that for similar price, you should go with 7800X3D if you're heavy into gaming. - Undervolted to -15mV, and currently running stable (bought it at release).
Does everything as 5800x but faster thanks to higher clock speed, Zen 4 tech and DDR5 speed.
Very fast & powerful AMD Drivers can auto overclock it Straightforward to use
Good price/performance. Using it for a recording studio and so far it shrugs off anything I can throw at it. Very please.

Windows 24H2 has a bug that can gimp the CPU Performance. High Performance power plan in Windows R23 score 39000. Ultimate Power Plan 40500. Has no issues maxing out a 7800XT You need to use CMD as admin to unlock the Hidden Ultimate Performance Power Plan. Google it faster at multicore than my 7970X3D and just as fast at lower resolution gaming.
I am cooling it with Be Quite! Dark Rock Pro 4
processor go vroom vroom
5GHz all P-core Runs cool under a 240mm AIO Can stream, game, and watch a video barley cracking 50% usage with no noticeable drop in FPS
I was using 2700X before the upgrade. TimeSpy benchmark shows 2000 points increase on CPU scores while the temperature is decreased by 15 degree C. Gaming framerate: I played Death Stranding Director's Cut and Starcraft II. The 1% minimal fps of DSDC was raised from 45fps to 85fps. The 1% minimal fps of SC2 was raised from 55fps to 80fps. Looks like this new CPU greatly enhanced my gaming experience because of it's processing speed and the PCIe 4 communication with my GPU. The new CPU on my X570-I motherboard also allows me to add a second m.2 SSD, so I add one for dual boot with Pop! OS for some experiments with Linux gaming. It turns out the gaming experience was not bad on Linux any more. Only a minor gap in terms of fps exists now, but getting games work on Linux still needs some efforts more than doing that on Windows 10.
