If you are looking for the best performance on a budget, this is your chip. I built two systems with similar hardware except for the CPU - one with this and the other with a core 7 265. I can't tell a difference in Star Citizen, one of the most demanding games on a CPU.

While Intel marketing has done a lot to promote i7 I suggest ignoring those designations and focusing on performance, heat and power consumption for your intended use. I used this i5 in a new build intended for video editing. With a Fuma 2 air cooler and spacious Lian Li Mesh case I did test renders and benchmarks and rarely saw temperatures above 70 degrees or total system power consumption of above 400 watts (including NVIDIA 2080 Super GPU). That is quite manageable unlike the less efficient higher-end models which frankly would benefit from undervolting and assigning power limits. The iGPU is absolutely worth getting if you playback or edit video as you get native decoding for useful formats including HEVC 10-bit 4:2:2 which no AMD or NVIDIA card can do. For QSV renders I even see this system beat my dedicated GPU for NVENC.

This was a budget gaming build and this exceeded my expectations! Great for gamers and business. Runs pretty fast compared to the i9 9900k I had. Huge upgrade for now!

Runs everything on roblox Minecraft at max graphics on hypixel. A dream even with a lot of people in skyblock Repo is fantastic Jurassic world evolution at medium is good u notice a tiny bit of lag but it's not horribly noticeable anything higher is runnable but you'll notice it
