I was using a 3.2Ghz i5 CPU before. This new i7-7700K blows that one away in performance; with 4 cores and 2 threads per core. It's also unlocked, so I ran it up to 5Ghz and it ran fine, just made the fans run fast most of the time so I slowed it back down to 4.7Ghz. Now they only speed up for 5-10 seconds as the processor peaks. Great Value to give an older computer new life.

Incredibly fast, and mine doesn't run as hot as I thought it would. Coming from an i5-6600K on a Z270 motherboard, I was debating between this & a board for $615, or just getting a 7700K to throw on my motherboard for a mere $280. Well I'm a firm believer in getting the best and newest thing you can @ the time of purchase, so I decided to bite the bullet and get the 8700K, regardless of the extra cost. Believe me, I have absolutely no regrets! Games like AC: Origins and Ghost Recon: Wildlands now have ZERO frame drops, as it did w/ my 6600K. Everything is super smooth, and this thing is lighting fast! If you're on the fence like I was about going this route, don't think another minute, this thing is absolutely amazing!
