Oculus Rift

The Development of the Oculus Rift is boldly moving forward with an announced release date of 2016. It’s a good time for gamers to start thinking of how to get the best results with their gaming PCs.

What Games Work Best?

While simulation games like car racing and flying are be perfect for virtual reality, the jury is still out on how well this will work for FPS’s and other game formats out there.

How Does It Compare To Microsoft’s HoloLens?

The HoloLens will focus on augmented reality by overlaying graphics onto your living room, while Oculus rift will render your whole living room. Oculus is intended to create a more immersive experience. However it might also be embarrassing if you’re so into a game that you don’t know you’re being watched by others in the room.

Will Your PC Support It?

The recommended specs are here below.

For some of us, it’s definitely time to upgrade.  Notice: Oculus Rift will not be compatible on Apple’s systems (sorry Apple).

Time Will Tell

While initial gaming development will be comprised of porting current titles to this new hardware, future games developed with Oculus Rift will really define this tech. This opens many exciting opportunities for new styles of games to emerge in the near future. Perhaps there will be games and applications no one has ever thought of before, or simply couldn’t do without virtual reality. Oculus has the greatest chance of succeeding where many others have failed.

How Would You Use Oculus?

What games are you looking forward to playing on Oculus? What kind of games you would like to see developed to truly take advantage of this tech?
