Finally! All those countless hours you put off doing homework to play Heroes of the Storm may finally pay off.

Blizzard has just launched a Heroes of the Storm tournament for college students that features over $450,000 in tuition and other prizes. Enrollment is open to all undergraduate and graduate students in the United States and Canada and this is one class you definitely don’t want to sleep through.

Blizzard’s “Heroes of the Dorm” is inviting active college students to compete against each other and win money for their tuition and student loans. All you need to do is assemble a five-player team and sign up by March 26 – that’s this Thursday, ladies and gentlemen – for open qualifiers. A 64-team single-elimination bracket begins on April 11, with the climactic final event sometime in late April. This will be the final showdown for the ‘Heroic Four,’ with the final rounds televised live on ESPN.

If you’re a college student and haven’t already heard about this event, then this is your big chance. Grab your keyboard and mouse and play to win!

“All five members of the first-place team will each enjoy up to $25,000 per year in college tuition for up to three years of their remaining years of undergrad or graduate enrollment (up to three full years as an undergrad or up to two years as a grad student). Seniors and grad students with no remaining years of enrollment will receive one year’s worth of tuition to help repay student loans. Each player whose team emerges from the ‘Round of 64’ and makes it to the ‘Heroic Four’ will take home a top-of-the-line gaming PC—featuring high-end components from Intel, Gigabyte, RosewillCyberPowerSteelSeries and HyperX.”

Some of the prizes for the “Heroes of the Dorm” tournament will include the fierce-looking Star Predator Mid Tower Gaming Case and the Acr 750 – 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply. A total of 38 exclusive gaming systems will also be given away featuring these and other great products from big-name companies.

If you are ineligible and/or more interested in wagering on winners, losers, and scoring; join the HOTD Fantasy Bracket Challenge. This fantasy league will begin on April 3, after the 64 teams who will be advancing to the single-elimination round are announced.

Bust out the pizza and hot wings, and tell your dad to DVR the golf game, because ESPN3 will carry the ‘Round of 16,’ ‘Round of 8,’ and ‘Heroic Four’ exclusively on the multi-screen sports network. Gamers, you won’t want to miss this – especially if your school is competing.

Good luck, Heroes!
