Does this drive come with the screws and cables necessary to connect it to my computer?

Accepted Answer

No.  You will need 4 6-32 x 1/4" screws, and an SATA cable.  (But check inside your computer case.  I've seen some that include extra screws, but it is not common.  Some cases also use non-standard screws, so I'd suggest taking a look inside, to see what type are used in yours.)

No, this hard drive will NOT fit in a laptop.
The Laptop Hard Drive form factor standard has a width of 2.5 inches. This one is 3.5 inches wide and therefore fits within the Desktop or Tower hard drive form factor. Newegg also put it in the "Desktop Internal Hard Drives" category.
Look upo "Laptop Internal Hard Drives" for the correct hard drive offerings.

Does this come in its own product box or is it wrapped in plastic protection and sent in a shipping box?

Mine came in plastic bubble wrap specifically shaped for HDD's and then inside a brown Newegg box.  They did not come inside a Seagate specific box.

No, this is too big for a laptop. This is a 3.5 inch drive, and a laptop will require a smaller form factor like a 2.5 inch drive..

is this compatible with a H P 110-210 desktop?

As long as your HP has an open SATA port to plug into on the motherboard, and you have an available 3.5 hdd slot for the tower chassis, this should work. The Mulberry MOBO spec sheet says it has x2 SATA (v3) ports. If your CDROM and pre-existing HDD is taking both the spots up, you might have to expand your options. Unless you are using this as a means of replacing the stock 500GB hdd that comes with the HP 110-210, then it's just a simple matter of replacing one HDD for another.

A hard drive is not the only thing involved in boot time. So I can't answer that without knowingredients your computers specs. But I put these in dell desktops with Intel i3 processors all the time and windows 10 usuall boops in less than 8 seconds.

Would this be a good drive for back up? the first reviewer said theirs died during backup. should I get something else? oddly, I have never owned a wd.

Any drive can fail but this has run fine in the system I deployed it in. If its a backup drive you'll at least have the original data source to work with.

There is also RAID for disk redundancy if you want a configuration that'll keep your data safer then a single disk, but it does require more disks.
