Overall Review: I replaced the original 80GB 5400RPM drive that came with my Dell Inspiron with this baby. Man what a difference! Installed Windows 7 from XP, and maxed out the RAM...now this laptop went from a 50cc scooter to a 650 V Strom!

Pros: I will start off by saying that these drives are great thus so far. Seems to be the best bang for your buck. I bought 2 of these for my Dell XPS M1730 and set them up in RAID 0. These drives replaced the stock 120gb Fujitsu that came with the laptop. Noticed dramatic speed increases right away. Vista score went from a 5.1 to a 5.9. They seem to run fairly cool and quiet. Honestly i didnt expect for them to run this quiet. I can barely hear them seek. My boot up time went from 40 seconds to 25 seconds. This laptop has been pretty much powered on since I installed them 5 days ago. Still running well. No noticeable vibrations like others have said. Newegg had them shipped to me in 2 business days. Hats off to Newegg!!!!!!!

Cons: As others have stated, they do make random clicking noises when they are at idle. I dont really feel a need to get replacements or even feel that this is a defect. The stock Fujitsu drive that i pulled from this made the exact same clicking noise as these ones do. I have owned this laptop for over a year and i have always heard this clicking. I think if this was a drive issue, i would have had a hard drive failure a long time ago. Also it would have been nice if these drives came with caddy mounting screws. My battery life has decreased but this was to be expected.

Overall Review: Seems as if though choosing hard drive brands is almost like a Ford vs. Chevy thing. Especially between Western Digital and Seagate. I have owned both Seagate and Western Digital drives. The bottom line is there is no such thing as a "fail proof" mechanical hard drive. I have had both WD and Seagate drives fail on me in the past. I read all the time where people say one or the other brands are "junk" just because they whine about loosing all of this important data. NEVER trust any hard drive with important data regardless of how good of a drive you think it is. Make sure you backup everything you feel is important on another external hard drive or other storage device.

Pros: Huge Capacity, runs VERY cool, power-efficient. My old 7200rpm segate momentus (stock from dell) was windows experience 5.1, this one is 5.7 (that's a big improvement). The old drive got so hot it was pretty painful to use the laptop, the WD is just cool, way cool.

Cons: Can be a little noisy (soft clicks) -- that's a real stretch for a con.

Overall Review: The description says *RETAIL* but new-egg sent me a bare drive, no retail box, no instructions, no software. It's not a problem for me but it was definitely unexpected. For the heat issue alone this upgrade was worth twice the price, but the vast amounts of storage and blazingly fast speed definitely puts this drive in a class by itself.

Pros: I'm back tonight to buy a second one. Drive is fast and quiet. I didn't notice any increase in overall temps, and it out-performs the Toshiba/Hitachi 7200rpm drive that came in my x205 by over 30%, according to HD Tune. That seems about right via my own reckoning. It's *very* nice, and well worth it to have this kind of capacity over the paltry amount given by the notebook manufacturers.

Cons: cons . . . . well, it came down in price $35 in six weeks, but hey, it's computer equipment.

Overall Review: Newegg proves that the seemingly lost art of customer service is not a dead one. You won't know until you need it, but no doubt you'll be as pleasantly surprised as I was. I've been ordering computer parts off the internet since 1995 (GET OFF MY LAWN!), and it is no exaggeration to say that Newegg sets the standard by which all others fall short.

Pros: Absolutely silent. Huge capacity. Very quick. Western Digital's best 2.5" drive (at the moment).

Cons: Contrary to description, this is NOT a 'Retail' package. I received the drive in a sealed plastic bag which was wrapped in bubble wrap. No documentation, no screws, no box. That's not 'Retail', that's 'OEM'. Not a fault of the drive, but I expect a little more from NewEgg. I'd take off half-a-star for this if I could.

Overall Review: I needed an upgrade from the 160GB 5400RPM drive that came with my notebook. I've always had very good luck with Western Digital drives, and was impressed with the specs. So this is the one I picked out. I'm glad I did. While I've only been using it for a few days while I re-build my system, it does seem a bit faster than the 5400RPM drive it replaced. Sure, it's a fresh install and those always run quick, but file copy operations seem better. Definitely an improvement over the old drive. Unlike some other reviews, my drive is *absolutely* silent. The only indication that I have that it's working is the HD access light on my notebook. I can't even hear it spin up. Absolutely no head-noise (ticking) either, which I did get quite a bit of with the old Toshiba drive. Oh, and in case anyone is curious, you'll get about 298GB of space when formatted. Nothing wrong with the drive, that's how it works. Buy it!

Pros: The drive is significantly faster and larger than the stock drive in my unibody MacBook.

Cons: Slight vibration and noise, compared to the 5400rpm stock drive

Overall Review: The noise and vibration is very mild and does not bug me one bit. The performance is way more important to me to worry about such a minimal issue. I do not often run on battery for long periods of time, but I have not noticed much (if any) of a drop in battery life after the 5400 to 7200 upgrade.

Pros: Fast, large capacity, quiet, runs cool. I've installed it in my Dell Latitude D830 and am very satisfied with the performance and capacity.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: I plan to purchase two more to use in a Raid 0 configuration on a Dell XPS M2010.

Pros: Fast drive - i noticed performance increase in load times of games after installing. I didnt test it alot yet but while installing MGS4 it only took 10min, i swear on old drive it took at least 20min to install. Way bigger than my old 60GB drive. Easy to install!

Cons: none yet.

Overall Review: Install is easy 1. Backup ps3 onto external (fat32) drive. 2. Remove old HDD and put new one in. 3. Download update from playstation site. http://us.playstation.com/support/systemupdates/ps3/pc_update/index.htm Put update onto external drive into PS3 > UPDATE folder. you will have to make the UPDATE folder make sure its in caps. Backup external drive should now have a PS3/BACKUP and a PS3/UPDATE folder. 4. Boot ps3, go to system settings and run backup, choose restore. Once i ran this it already had my ps3 all up to date all my save files were there and settings as well. P.S. my ps3 is big fat old one. Made nice upgrade for its small 60GB drive.
