* Very small, smaller than even most other portable drives. I have two other external SSD's that are still slightly larger than the Crucial X9, and my portable HDD's are not only much larger, but also weigh significantly more. If your goal is to carry the drive around with you, the X9 is a great choice. * USB-C for fastest speeds. I don't believe previous generations of USB can reach 1 GB/s, so the newer interface is necessary to max out the drive. Running on USB-3 will certainly hinder performance. * Cool temperatures. Modern SSD's have a tendency to run hot, with many of them actually throttling bandwidth to manage heat. The Crucial X9 idled around 35C on my setup, and peaked at 50C during testing. Most SSD's have a maximum temperature in the 70-80C range, so there's plenty of headroom. I suspect there might be some kind of small heatsink inside the drive keeping it cool. * Blazing fast. The Crucial X9 achieved the highest sequential speeds I've ever seen on an external drive, rivaling many internal NVMe drives. I was able to copy large files at the full 1 GB/s bandwidth with no throttling so it seems Crucial has equipped the drive to sustain its maximum speeds at all times. My full bandwidth result is attached as an image.

Great price, fast shipping, works as intended.

easy to install

As title says. Great product. Runs very well and at high speed. Now, make sure you have a Type-C port and also make sure your Motherboard supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 in order to gain from the 2000 MB/S. If it only supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 or below then it will run at a max speed of 1000 MB/S which is pretty fast, still. It also doesn't specify if it comes with a cable. Yes, a Type-C cable. Not a USB cable. So like I said you need a Type-C port.

Portable, simple setup, useful dual connector design

- Extremely fast(when you have the correct port, I only have 5Gb USB currently) -Extremely fast even on slower ports -Runs surprisingly cool, although heavy usage will warm it up eventually -Very light on bundleware -Very physically small for the capacity it offers.

- 3 Year Warranty with registering - Perfect for storing (off loading) PS5 games - Acronis True Image For Crucial - Software included - 1 month of Adobe® Acrobat Pro upon registering the Crucial X10 (if desired) - IP65 certified water/dust resistant - Drop resistant to 3 meters

Good transfer rate, great protective casing, easily portable. Excellent value for the money!

So I got the drive, hooked it up to my Thunderbolt on my motherboard, and I transferred some files to my C drive, and I got a two-gig transfer speed. The Reading speed is great

Beautiful design. Big storage space. FAST. Reliable. Easy.

I've never been disappopinted by a SanDisk product. It is a Cmas present to my son. I copied a bunch of family photos and videos to it and there is still plenty of room for him to backup his laptop.

I got this drive for my iphone and my pc backup. Very, very fast and easy to do.

Easy setup Very fast with Crystal disk mark scores at twice that of an internal SATA 3 ssd. Reasonably priced Comes with both USB C to USB C and USB C to USB A cables.

I got a great deal on this because it was on sale. I needed big portable storage. I had another 2TB thumb drive, but when my laptop fell it nearly broke off the plug. I'd been using an extender with multiple sockets to avoid that, but this was way better. The yellow loop comes off, and then one end goes in the drive and the other in the USB-C port. Connections are firm. It feels extremely durable--metal casing and no projecting or moving parts to break or wear out. I feel like I could drive over it and it would still be OK. I can't speak technically about speed, but it's plenty fast for me. The little light at the end is always flashing colors while it's plugged in!

Easy set up, worked right off the bat, bought as a faster network storage for my router so it is easier to copy files from one computer to another on the same network. Small, light weight, usb C and normal usb adapter. For most uses, like PC's it'll just self configure and be ready for use when you plug it in, giving you a choice to add i'm assuming encryption sw for the device like other USB thumbdrives, for mac or windows.

Fast enough for large file transfers, premium feel, compact. Come with a magnetic ring to support older generation phones.

Plug-n-play, no separate power brick required. Very fast with USB-C port. Amazingly compact for a drive of 4 TB size. Well made and good looking case design. Packaging is very sturdy.
