Well I got it a few days sooner then what the delivery date was. I was looking for a laptop that would do everything but especially for some gamming. This was the first great buy for a gaming laptop with a reasonable price. it does have a backlit keyboard which you can turn off or on. The screen colors are great and so is the picture quality I would recommend purchasing this laptop if you are looking to game besides doing everything else.
Having purchase a 10 port Wavlink's USB 3.0 port hub in the past, which I have been completely satisfied with, I began to research if they made a USB-C docking station for my father's new Dell XPS 15 laptop. I compared a few different brands, but ultimately decided that for the price, it's hard to beat this Wavlink USB-C docking station/hub. It has an incredible number of ports: 12 individual ports. More than most people will ever utilize! Here is a brief summary that I wrote up of all ports: 1. USB-C Power Delivery Port - Can ONLY be used for Power (not for USB-C input). Offers power delivery up to 100W with an external charger. 2. DisplayPort v1.2a (4K @ 30hz) 3. HDMI v1.4b (4K @ 30hz) 4. VGA port (2K @ 60hz) 5. USB 2.0 6. USB 2.0 7. USB 3.0 8. USB 3.0 9. RJ45 Ethernet Port (Gigabit Connection) 10. SD card reader 11. Micro SD/TransFlash (TF) card reader 12. 3.5mm Audio Jack (for Headphones/Speakers) What has been impressive is that this unit stays very cool, which is very important for someone like me, who uses this docking station near other devices that dissipate heat. I have used this to run two monitors which is excellent.
Very compact and has a ton of ports! This makes it so easy to quick connect to my devices when I get home from work! Feels like a good quality part as well!
The power and speed.
Set up was easy, it connected to my monitors right away. Provides enough power to charge my Lenovo P1 Gen2 while running dual 27" monitors as well.
I have attached a keyboard, mouse and two monitors to the docking station with no problems.
- Reliable Ethernet - Plenty of USB-A ports - Passes power perfectly as far as I can tell
