-reasonable cost -two m.2 slots -form factor -IPMI
Boots pretty well. Detected crucial ddr5 just fine. Error codes were nice during putting together.
Two pcie x16 slots with ryzen comparibokity
VGA out and 10Gbit NICs were worth the upgrade to the NT edition.
Standard ATX layout allows it to be used in nearly any standard case, either a rackmount chassis or a large desktop. Tons of PCIe lanes PCIe slots are arranged such that you can easily use multiple video cards. (I have two Geforc 4090s in mine.) It came with a new enough BIOS version to handle Milan (Zen 3) CPUs. Supermicro boards are always very high quality, well designed for their intended tasks. As usual they made very sensible hardware and design choices.
It's a real beast! Works with my AMD Threadripper Pro 5975WX (also from Newegg) veeeeeery well. Note: - You have to upgrade BIOS to 2.a, otherwise can not boot. - It's cheaper than ASUS WRX80E-SAGE Pro, and I have to say, BETTER! - Too difficult to use ASUS WRX80E-SAGE Pro, which needs a BIOS updating too. However, I couldn't get ASUS BIOS Flash button & IPMI BIOS Flashing work. To verify these, I wasted money on SAGE MB, another 3955WX CPU and 8 x Crucial 16GB RAMs which are listed by ASUS. Good luck!
I went with an i7-13700k as I heard there were power limitations on the upper end of the i9-13900k(s) variations. This thing is fast, stable (ECC helps), and has lots of expansion compared to its x12 predecessor. I am using both the onboard ASPEED and Intel iGPU by setting Max TOLUD to between 1-2GB and enabling onboard as default video.
Lots of expansion capability for memory, disks, pci-e, and fans IPMI is wonderful for getting Board feels solid and well built (no flex)
Easy to set up.
All the features you could ever want. Has sensors for days! HTML5 WebUI for Remote Console to your OS!
Does what it says on the tin
