It works as described.
This is my first induction cooktop, and I've been very pleased with it. It heats things up quickly, the settings seem flexible enough, it's easy to clean, and there's no wire coils for suicidal foodbits to leap into and burn. I like the warning that sounds if I pull the pan off. It's very easy to clean, too.
We got the cooktop basically to save a bit of money on the electric bill. I read somewhere that a normal electric range uses .60 cents of a dollar to cook something while an induction cooker uses .90 cents. Anyway, the thing is amazing. It heats cast iron twice as fast as our electric range and I was very surprised how much faster water boils. If you are a gas user and like the fact you can decrease and increase temperatures almost instantly you will really like this system.
