I’ve ordered this switch but the deployment plan changed on the fly when I received the device. So I’ve requested a return, returned the device and received full refund with no issue. Thanks

4K Surveillance cameras do not require (and probably don't support) gigabit ethernet. The 100Mbps uplink is adequate for the aggregate bandwidth from 4 cameras. The port priority function is a nice feature when attaching a wireless access point to port 1.

I have had this switch now for a few weeks and I have been rather happy with it. To start off with, my initial impression was good. The switch has a metal casing that appears to be very durable. The build quality appears to be pretty good as well. I decided to put it through it's paces and give it a good testing on my network. I had 4 of my highest performance computers running on this switch, the machines being used heavily on the internet, for gaming, and for transferring files / data between each other. This little switch moved information between these computers just as fast as my larger unmanaged switches. Having added this between part of my network and 4 computers I did not see any performance decrease. The whole unit appears to be very stable. The unit is compact and does not get very warm during operation at all, even under heavy load from multiple machines. I am very happy with it. I would have no problem recommending this item for gamers who want to have a small LAN party or to someone who has a small home network and needs gigabit capabilities.

I have had both this DGS-1016G and a DGS-2208 in my small office. The 1016G is by far the faster of the 2. The 2208 does not transfer nearly as fast.

-Plug & Play -Fully managed -Low heat -Dual SFP+ for lower heat -Overall package is so well thought out compared to other low quality switches.
