Small footprint, good performance (in my testing I was able to move data at about 700megabit per second which is about the best I have seen over copper gigabit ethernet. So the switches raw throughput is definitely on par and something I am often concerned about with networking gear. It does have QOS, which while not generally much of a benefit to a home user, a business network or other network with a lot of traffic it can benefit greatly. I really like the metal case on this switch, they are far more durable than the plastic ones and they also dissipate heat better I find that particularly important as heat kills a lot of networking gear. The switch has a 5 year warranty, this is pretty rare and nice, power cable is about 5 feet long and it does come with small rubber stick on feet, as well as having some cutouts for mounting the bottom to a wall or shelf with screws.

This is what a switch should be. It is a rack mountable switch in which they used a shrink ray to make smaller and we all know that makes it cuter. With a full metal casing it is sturdy and well built. A Kensington lock? C'mon where else are you going to find that feature for this price. After opening this up and testing it out I decided to use this one over the one I bought, for more money. I was able to push enough throughput through this that my router had issues. This has the quality construction I would expect to see on a full sized professional dumb switch. Yes a dumb/unmanaged switch is exactly what you want if you're not sure. It stays cool even through a very intensive test procedure. Imaging a few computers at once, some with Windows built in and some with a third party app, this thing did not falter. separate lights for speed indicators to make it easy to tell even if you were colorblind. Fanless design is nice to keep the noise down. To be honest I was planning on installing a fan to keep the temps down, but after fully testing it and checking the temps I have decided that is not needed. QOS and 9K jumbo frames, along with the above mentioned, I'm sold.

The switch has a very heavy and quality feel to it. POE+ works great with my cameras, and wireless access points.
