Yet another great piece of networking equipment I've bought from Netgear.
Item was delivered on time and worked well for us.
* Nice compact form factor * Included power adapter option is nice * Even nicer is being able to power it off PoE - one less wire/plug socket to deal with * Integrates well with the UniFi Network app, showing what devices are connected to it
built tough clear LEDs, gigabit(although I only pay for 100 Mbps), Plug and play, Lifetime Warranty, next business day replacement so they say, 8 ports, wall mountable, On/off switch
No setup, just connect all device and ... that`s it!
it switches and fast! Cheap, solid.
Just needed a mobile Hub/Switch for some tech work i do. So far this little Netgear is GREAT. Nice metal construction!
Small Physical Signature: This switch is small so doesn't take up much space. Plug and Play: Speed test done right after installed and it does a great job.
+Solid metal construction, so nice to see in the era of plastic! +Great throughput in my testing (but actual switching fabric throughput isn't given in specs?) +"Green" switch that actually works well. I have a similar "green" switch from another manufacturer that has trouble maintaining a link on long cable runs (over 200ft). I have not been able to recreate this problem on the TL-SG108. Awesome! +Low power consumption. The switch never used more than 4 watts from the wall during my testing. As a result, the switch runs cool and is hardly even warm to the touch under load. +Compact size with wall mount option. The switch is small enough to be mounted in rafters or cramped spaces. Great if your network is centered in a basement or small wiring closet. + I had no trouble transferring data between devices of different connection speeds. Even with a few old 10Mbps devices mixed with 100Mbps and 1Gbps devices, everything worked as expected. +5 year warranty. Most other brands seem to be only 1 or 2.
Super Fast Light Small Easy Install
The TP-LINK TL-SG108E seems to be a well-built switch with an option to operate as a managed switch. The box contains the switch, AC adaptor, quick start guide, a resource cd, and stick-on rubber feet. The switch has a metal frame and measures 6.2”x4”x1”. If you want to run this as an 8-port Gigabit switch just plug it in and go. However, if you want to configure it to act as a managed switch, complete with V-Lans, trunk groups, port mirroring, and DHCP just pop in the cd and install the included management software. The TP-Link “Easy Smart Configuration Utility” has a nice interface and functions well. Speeds test well and I have not experienced any issues with this switch during my initial testing.
No issues and provides great through put .
It worksit's small
Dead simple layout. Good unmanaged switch. Metal Design, Mounts included. POE on ports 1-4 for Voip phones, Wireless AP, or Security Cam. Beefier power supply due to POE. Adjustable POE. Nice Warranty
Very fast and works well with the other netgear router.
Easy to setup no issues
Inexpensive, small, and reliable.
2.5Gbs speed from my router to the rest of my home network.
This unit has been in continuous operation since October 2013 and works great.
