This UPS replaced an APC Smart UPS 750 RM 2U - also a rackmount unit. The SRT1000RMXLA adds a super-functional display, power-conditioning capabilities in addition to larger battery capacity/improved runtime.

Length: it's shorter than others so it will mount fine in 2 post racks using included heavy-duty mounting brackets. Price: excellent value for your dollar. Tons of features you would not expect for a device under $1000. Quiet: does not make a horrible racket like other UPS in its class. Just a periodic chirp and light fan sound. Powerful: 20A means you can put more load on it and it will charge faster.

Sets up easily and operates reliably. Also, the firmware displays the battery backed-up wattage, which is good to know for a number of reasons.

-Surge protected outlets. -ECO mode

Works great and simple / easy!

Very easy to setup, easy digital display, setup with Nas4Free and Freenas was relatively painless

This is a great UPS at a great price. I live in an area where we are subject to a lot of power glitches and orignally used smaller UPSs thich could not handle the load for the amout of rime needed. Since i purchased this UPS i have not had a problem with my servers dying on me...

Simple with plenty of outlets and nice form factor

I haven't even had this more than 2 weeks and it's already helped me out a ton. Had a power outage just the other day and this UPS worked like a champ. It's powering a rig with two 980 Ti Superclocked cards and three 27 inch monitors.

Short story, it works! Purchased about a year ago. Couple of weeks ago, mains power bounced up and down 4 times in 60 seconds, then went out for good for a few hours. UPS seems to have about 20 minutes of power at a 250 watt draw, or thereabouts. When UPS battery got to 50%, I had it trigger shutdown of the CPU. That all triggered very nicely, got a clean shutdown, everything worked as expected. Yay! BTW -- this is with Linux, Debian Stable, using a USB cable between CPU and computer. On the UPS, I mostly left everything at factory defaults, so my app is simple, undemanding.

Seems to work plug and play with my Synology DS1513+. With just the NAS plugged in to the battery, at 100% battery I get an estimated ~2812 Seconds reported to Synology.
