This drive performed extremely well in all cases. In a synthetic test of 5 passes of 1GB of data, it got 174.9 MB/s read speed and 172.8 MB/s write speed for linear/sequential data. That write speed is incredibly impressive. It also got 0.566 MB/s random scattered single-byte reads and 1.451 MB/s writing. That read speed is nothing special but the write speed was incredibly impressive. The 64MB buffer really helps out a lot. Scattered reads and writes are the exact opposite of what this drive is designed to do though. When in heavy operation, the drive maintained a temperature of 37C in a system that wasn't very friendly to drive cooling. That's a very acceptable and safe temperature. Also, the noise level was basically imperceptable. If and entire room was filled with these drives, I doubt it would be audible. Besides actual performance numbers, the drive is ideal for video-related usage. It has a 180,000 GB per year workload rating and a 3 year warranty plus a 1 million hour MTBF. Since a huge feature is recording while playing videos, I tried recording from my camera at 4500 megabits while playing back a few recorded videos from earlier in rapid succession. There was little to no lag and the live recording wasn't disrupted in any way. Over 24 hours I had no recording failures from any of my cameras. Do note though that I was using this drive as a secondary drive so there were no disruptions from the system's disk access tasks, though past testing suggests that wouldn't have disrupted the drive either. I also tested this drive recording gameplay at 60FPS from a 1920x1080 resolution modern game and it operated just as perfectly with no frame drops or hesitation at all. I would recommend the drive for that use as well as in a camera DVR.
Worked exactly like you'd expect.
LONG lasting (MTBF), Exceptional data throughput for SATA (much higher with SAS), super warranty and energy efficient. Built for ENTERPRISE level reliability in demanding production data environments like: Transactional Databases, Email Servers, NAS/SAN Storage, Application Servers, Surveillance Storage Servers and Domain Controllers. Despite their cost they also are great for high demand workstations. Disc level encryption on selected models makes disc retirement easier and more secure.
perfect. it did everything I need it to do
Very easy to setup
great product for the price
Very reliable, silent and cool.
Sustained 100+ MB/sec real world transfer speeds to and from this drive.
Very large amount of space for games or files if you prefer to keep your games on an SSD You will have trouble filling this drive.
The new Barracuda drives are wicked fast. Very slim design compared to Hitachi, WD, and a couple others.

Works great, costs next to nothing.
Easy use. Just plug it in. Win 10 has no issues finding and assigning the drive. Chose the red to help keep business data separate.
Great 2tb for the price
