I bought a used computer from a buddy and i am looking to upgrade. My gpu is GeForce GTX 770 and my motherboard is Gigabyte X79-UP4 and Processor is i7 4820k. 8gb of RAM. From my understanding i need a huge upgrade.
My New List https://newegg.io/dbcade3
I was wondering if i can get some feedback on these items. Are they all compatible with eachother? Are they good?? I am looking for some rainbow six siege play and cyberpunk at around 240 hz.
I did research my current case matches the form factor so they should fit it. I was told to do an AMD build.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
off the top of my head, i can tell u it’s GOOD. It’s not the GREATEST.
No gpu will play Cyberpunk at 240 hz unless u spend like a TON of money for a gpu. they are compatible with each other
Check out the 2 videos below for performance expectations on your GPU
Thanks for the videos i didnt think about searching the gpu with games test videos i just said 240hz because thats what my recently purchased monitors (Acer XZ271U) are rated for. I will be playing both multi-player and single player games. I want at least 120 hz for both.
I was told from my buddy that the list was top of the line.
Im looking to spend roughly $1000-$1500. And for it to last a good 5-10 years with no game stopping issues. I want great.
Right now i cant even play a game without a notification freezing and crashing the game. I can barely do runescape and wiki.

u have a great start, and u also have a budget. this looks great.

You’re going to need a cooler and make sure u have some overhead for your PSU. You should get a new psu instead of using one that’s over 7+ years old
I suggest checking if your current windows copy is bound to your motherboard or your microsoft account. This can save you a few hundred.
I suggest getting 32 GB of memory, 64 GB isn’t really needed.
I would get a 9600x CPU or a 9800x3d. You can save a lot of money with the 9600x and then get a better GPU. Go for a 5070 ti or a 9070 xt.
I also suggest a cheaper motherboard.
Unfortunately, it is quite hard to get a system to run Cyberpunk at 240 hz. I think considering a graphics card like the 4070ti or the 4080 would steer the performance of your system more in the direction of your expectations, especially if you were planning on running 4k. Everything seems to be compatible on that list. Post pics when its all done! Best of luck!

Here is a website i found while doing my research and advice you guys gave me thought i would share.
My new final list https://newegg.io/c79dc35 with the addition of 8 more fans in my cart to fill the case. Its about 2k which if i apply for affirm i can pay 100 a month and be PC gaming while i do it.
Thanks again everyone for the advice a million times over.
I’m double triple checking everything is compatible before i order.
Look for CL30 6000Mhz ram. I personally like G skill flare 32gb cl30 6000Mhz.
Don’t waste money on windows if you don’t have to. See if your current PC has the license bound to a windows account or can be bound, this can be used on your new PC. There might be key sellers for cheaper (is this against TOS to say?)
You can save a little with a Corsair RM850e 3.1 atx, like 10 dollars (it’s also smaller)
Your case comes with three fans I think. I don’t like your pick of a case there are cheaper ones without gimmicky screen stuff, but if you like that, go for it.
You may need to update your BIOS with that motherboard to get it to work with the 9600x.
Let me know what you think / if anything I said is wrong.
I dont know anything about this its my first time but i did make a few changes and saved some money.
Are you saying 3 fans is enough?
Too fill it up like the picture is just over kill/for looks??
I looked up about the bios thing and changed the motherboard selection. As well as my power supply.
I will look into my windows situation.
I am not knowledgeable with how many case fans, but I the photo is showing absolute maximum fan, when probably three would be fine???
What did you decide to do?
Typically having an airflow straight front to back is the best, not having “more” fans. Just make sure you have a strong front and back case fan.
