Possibly another stupid question.. with what I’m looking at do I need DDR5? Or would I be able to get DDR4 and not really notice a difference there?
DDR4 physically wont fit in a DDR5 slot and vice visa
I’d recommend Viraco’s suggestion here
You won’t learn without asking question. Ask away!
I rather get @Queenbreezy24 a PCIe 5 CPU if budget allows 8400F is gen 4 and slower then 5600 in benchmarks. 7600X it’s not much more in price
Going from FX-8320 to a 7800X3D is a massive jump, great choice for gaming. The ASRock B650M Pro RS is a solid budget-friendly board and will pair fine with that CPU and your 2080 Super.
For RAM, go with 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MHz CL30–36 if possible, that’s kind of the sweet spot for Ryzen 7000.
Only thing to double-check is your 550W PSU — it might be a bit tight depending on the exact model and load, so upgrading that could be worth considering for stability.
After a whole lot of shopping around and so much help from all of you beautiful people I finally finished my build! Ended up waiting for the case I’ve been eyeing to drop so took a bit longer than I wanted but what can I say… a girl wants what she wants. Personally I’d say she looks pretty good especially considering this is my first build ![]()
