Works as advertised. Basically the only card of its kind left, and I looked in a lot of places.

This works with firewire audio gear, Presonus Firebox. Nice card. Came with extra bracket for low profile. I use Studio One 2 DAW. Win7 64 installed with no driver install- windows took care of it. I put the driver in legacy mode as the win7 driver is known to cause trouble with audio gear (latency problems). Path: /control panel/device manager/1394 firewire card/properties... its on my other computer, so that's as far as to the path I remember. its on one of the tabs. Good luck!

Wonderful. I have been wrestling with a cyber power ups with a serial interface for almost 3 years now. My computer would only sometimes recognize the UPS using the provided serial to usb adapter. Win7 64bit. Installed this card and it immediately recognized the ups.

I bought this a while back to be able to run my Focusrite Saffire Pro DSP 24. This was the first time I was setting up a firewire card so it took some troubleshooting and hair tearing to figure out why it would not start up and glitch all the time. Basically all you have to do is install 1394 drivers and make sure you have it as the default speakers in your sound settings. You also have to set the right frequency for your system (mine is set up at 96khz) with "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device". This will enable focusrite to run the sound in your preferred DAW or video program to your speakers while using your browser or any other program. Pretty solid device.

This card works great for me. Not too many peripheral devices out there that use a serial devices anymore.

Plugged it in and ran dvgrab - it immediately started capturing from the Sony D8 camera I had attached. That's all I needed it for, so now all the old tapes I need to rip to disk will be ripped. Absolutely no trouble - took me longer to remember the name of the command than to install. (Ie, it's supported by the kernel 4.15 in Linux Mint19.2 (aka Ubuntu bionic)

I used this with a older intel 330 atom mini itx board, which only had the gma 950 video . It only had a pci slot. I happened to have the zotac pci express 1x ion video card that I wanted to use, this allowed me to use it just fine. Not for gaming but works good for watching high def vids on youtube and such

Easy to install on an Asus P755D MBD. running Windows 7 64 bit. Windows asks for the drivers, just run the disk. I already had 2 USB 3.0 needed more and this card works. Same speed as the on board USB 3.0
