If you want to purchase a cheap system and upgrade to SATA optical and hard drives, without getting a new power supply. This product works great with older power supplies that don't have more than 1 SATA connector. The SATA connectors on this product are also much easier to plug into than the typical SATA connector. Maybe it's just because of the power supply I had but they plug in easier for me.
