I put this in an older Dell desktop running Windows 10 that just had USB2 ports. I have several external hard drives that support USB3, and the transfer speeds are now almost 3x faster. I didn't install the software that came with it, as it's for Win7, not for Windows 10. But it worked without that software, so I'm good. There's a Molex power plug on the card, but I didn't use it. I think that's just for if your USB device needs power from the PC, but my drives are self powered, so no need. The manual didn't say anything about the Molex power, so IDK what's up with that. My PSU doesn't have any Molex cables, but if need be, I guess one could use a Molex to SATA Power Adapter Cable Convertor.
