For the PC and laptop I'm using it is perfect. No visible deterioration of the video quality. It auto switches when a new device gets turned on, but if two are on at the same time it might not. It has a little switch to manually shift between active sources. So far nothing bad to say about it. For the money it was a low risk investment that seems to have paid off.

I bought this unit to switch an LCD monitor between a computer and a network video recorder at 1920x1080. Didn't use a KVM switch because I wanted something inexpensive and simple, and didn't need to switch a keyboard or mouse. It works. Despite its simplicity, I didn't notice any video distortion. I took it apart. This is a simple mechanical switch consisting of 8 SPDT switch circuits arranged on a printed circuit board. Alternating push buttons toggle all contacts simultaneously. One of the 8 circuits is unwired (didn't test to see if actually functional) resulting in 7 switched circuits.
