i was looking for a new Plex server for full 4k HD remux HEVC mkv files. This is it!!! Play files without issue using LG tv plex app. If youre looking for a new Plex server you wont regret this purchase.

-Stylish design -easy to access hard drives (no screws) -dual 2.5Gb ethernet ports -hard drives transfer at up to 300MB/s -NVMe slots -easy setup -RAM can be upgraded -HDMI port

It just works. And in the computer world thats a big win. Runs as fast as a local hard drive.

Easy to unbox, populate with NVME M.2 SSD cards, configure, add an external HD for scheduled backups and snapshots.

This is an amazing little NAS. I bought it because you can install two M.2 drives on top of the four hard drives. It was easy to set up, and I was able to get almost everything set up in an hour. I'm still trying to figure out how to connect this directly to my Dell server for backups. I installed four 12TB drives, and it configured the RAID 10 by the next day. Much faster than I thought it would have been.

Great features for the price I got it at $750. I have an aging 1515+ and a home built Xpenology that needed rebuilding. The performance is wonderful. I was also able to get an aftermarket 10Gb network card working without issue. I use that for iSCSI for VM traffic in my home lab and it runs flawlessly. The shipping was the fastest I have ever witnessed. I assume it was direct from Synology and not from the Newegg warehouses which are typically not good these days.

Ease of setup (read the instructions unlike I did!!)

As a long time and happy user of the Raidon External Raid storage units I decided to try the QNAP units when I needed more storage capacity. The QNAP DAS units are solidly built and are professionally finished. They look like high quality equipment. Installation of the hard disk drives requires minimal effort. I configured the unit for Raid 1 using the switches on the rear panel. Set up took a while for my pair of Seagate Ironwolf Raid Hard Disk Drives as was to be expected. So far the unit has been running flawlessly for a week. Being a Direct Attached Storage device, consolidation of my files spread across many HDDs, Thumb-drives and smaller external raid units will be easy. Looking forward to consolidating all my files, on one storage device, and ending the "Digital Clutter". Once the consolidation is completed the QNAP will be connected to a NAS so my files can be accessed from any devise regardless of where I'm at.
