In my mind, the whole product is a "pro". But, a few details on the product: 1. The in-cap fan is great & prevents heat buildup during prolonged use. You can separately toggle the fan on-off with a push button. I haven't opened the cap up, but I think it's basically an off-the shelf in-computer-case fan so I'm sure you could swap it out if it eventually dies on you. 2. So far no problems at all with the thing dismounting/disconnecting from my laptop. Super nice to see because I have had horrible experiences with USB enclosure hardware. 3. Data transfer rate is also fine and raises no red flags. I haven't done any perf testing, just commenting that on regular use I'm getting 100-200 MB/sec so at that point if you're using a USB enclosure, you better not be complaining ;-) 4. Size. Thank Heaven there was ONE enclosure out there that didn't support BOTH 2.5" and 3.5" hard disks. All of those are considerably larger than this. So yeah, you won't be putting 3.5" drives in this thing, which is something I personally viewed as a "plus". YMMV.

I use this to connect to external monitor, network connection, charging and also connect a corded keyboard.

Worked great right out of the box; connected my Samsung 27" HDMI monitor, and Network cable to the unit, connected the USB cable to the new Lenovo Carbon X1 Generation 6 and it all works! Saved over $100 vs the Lenovo option from another vendor! We are using a Logitech M780 keyboard and a MS ARC Mouse in Bluetooth mode, everything works as expected. The X1 comes with a 65W power supply but this unit's 60W charged the X1 from 80% to 100% in no time. Perfect!

I have been using this product, and two previous versions as I added monitors, for about 6 years now. Wavlink is under rated as a company, perhaps because people simply haven't heard of their innovative products. But I can tell you from hands on that they have solved problems for me that have reduced the rats nest of wires on my desk dramatically! I use a combination of two systems, a PC and a MacBook Pro. Both of these systems come into a KVM. The key reason that I purchased the Wavlink product was that it had dual support for both HDMI AND Display Port monitors. This was critical because my KVM at the time was pure DP. I have since switched over to HDMI as HDMI handles a KVM better than the DP in my experience. But still, I needed that DP option when I purchased this device. One thing I can say about this product is I was impressed, and actually blown away the support for external peripherals out of box. In the past I needed external USB switch boxes to go back and forth between systems, but because of the support on this device, it was able to add all of the too many peripherals to this system through the KVM.

Appears to work fine for holding a drive I use in a zfs mirror

Easy to use. Download driver. Plug in everything and wah lah. I needed dual monitors to perform my job well. This will work for this laptop and any other laptop I'm issued. Thank you!

- Only need to plug in the USB C to get power, USB's and 2x displays

- DisplayPort supports 2k 165hz + GSYNC - Ethernet port is full 1gbps - Thunderbolt cable is longer than I expected - When plugging in everything sets up in a couple of seconds, pretty fast (maybe it's the computer though)
