No setup Plugged it in and it worked

I work in information technology, and sometimes configure larger managed switches. When I read the specifications for this switch and then the price, I don't think I've ever impulse bought a network device faster, and I don't regret it. It does everything it says it does in the manual, is inexpensive, fanless, and has a great, sturdy iron case with notches for wall mounting using the included screws and wall anchors. Apart from the very solid build quality an iron case imparts, the extra weight is incredibly helpful to keep the device firmly planted where you put it when you have Ethernet cables hanging from all of the ports.

- easy to setup - can mount on wall

-It's just a metal box with holes in it. -The holes make internet go all over the place. -Won't turn yellow like our jank old router.

Fast performance and PoE+/++ out of the box! Small footprint and overall a performance beast for my network

UniFi compatible and suited to the kinds of awful environmental conditions the old Ubiquiti Tough Switch Pro was perfect for. Being managed by UniFi rather than UISP simplifies the network, so it's GREAT to have this niche filled. Surprisingly useful to have more ports, didn't know we needed them until we had the option.

This thing is very well built from what I can see on the outside. Steel box construction, quality ports, etc. I use this in my multi-media room so I have the network cable coming out of the wall plugged into this switch which then is used to connect a wi-fi repeater, television, blu-ray player, surround sound receiver, desktop computer, and xbox. It has worked flawlessly and download/upload speeds have been fine. The unit stays completely cool so that tells me it's efficient. (it's predecessor was hot to the touch and billed itself as "green") This is what I would consider to be a consumer product only, It comes with software that needs to be installed on a PC and is used to manage the switches settings. I'd say 99% of the purchasers would find this utility useless since it just works out of the box for consumer uses and setting it up isn't necessary.

The switch has a very heavy and quality feel to it. POE+ works great with my cameras, and wireless access points.

Fast, well constructed, easy to use, just like any other quality switch I have owned (I have at least 6 1G ones in my house). Hopefully the power plug holds up, that's really the only weak point on the 1G switches.

* Nice compact form factor * Included power adapter option is nice * Even nicer is being able to power it off PoE - one less wire/plug socket to deal with * Integrates well with the UniFi Network app, showing what devices are connected to it

Works as advertised and had no issues with autonegotiating speeds on interfaces with Google Fiber's provided equipment (an issue I had read about in reviews for other boxes which I was concerned about). Get full speed.
