Getting the old battery out and the new battery in was easy and uneventful. Piece of advice: replace old batteries sooner rather than later. If the old battery swells too much, it can be really difficult to get it out of the UPS.

An exact replacement for my 6 year old APX XS-1000. The original battery died some time ago (~5 years) and the unit continued to function just fine. Only just recently did I noticed that the battery did not work after an ice storm. After replacing it with this battery, the unit was able to switch to backup power successfully.
