I have had zero issues with the drive so far. Using the right software (Make MKV), I was able to back up quite a few 4k/UHD/2160p discs to an external hard drive for safe keeping. I have not attempted to burn anything other than a standard blu ray data disc (25gb), so I can't comment on that.

Fair price, reliable, M-disc and BDXL compatible. Despite what the video game and digital distribution industry want you to think, optical discs cannot be beat for archiving/long term back up. If you have data that you do not want to lose then you should have it backed up on a blu-ray or M-disc DVD and/or blu-ray. HDDs, SSDs, flash drives, SD cards, even tape, will not outlast a DVD or blu-ray, let alone M-disc. I use CDBurnerXP when burning data to a disc. I use the free Leawo blu-ray player software to play blu-rays on my PC using this drive.
