In Blu-Ray Burners

Performs excellently - especially after MakeMKV patch Great price

I wanted Blu-Ray on my Laptop so I ordered this drive. I get just under 19MB/s when copying from a Blu-ray Disc. Faster than the USB Blu-ray drive I was using.

Product as such according to the description, fast delivery, Blu ray writer running 100% I am very satisfied. Thanks Newegg

Bought it to replace a VERY old LG Blu-Ray drive (one of the first raw drives available) which had lost the ability to properly read a complete Blu-Ray disk. In shopping for a new drive I wanted one that wouldn't work against me when I wanted to rip newly purchased disks to be played back on a Shield without physical media. Back in the day I'd flashed firmware on optical drives and it didn't scare me, but just buying a new random drive and trying to retrofit the firmware to work properly would take research and experimentation as well as doing things like creating a specific boot USB drive and, after all that, still possibly bricking the drive (I researched it a bit). Or I could spend a little more and get a ready-to-go, properly configured, and already tested drive from these guys. I decided I'd rather spend my time doing something more fun than trying to do on my own what they had already accomplished. It worked correctly right out of the box and continues to do so, though granted I've had it less than a month. You get what you pay for. Yes, you can buy the same drive for less money and then spend the time it takes to get it to where this drive already is. Or you can just buy the right thing in the first place. I chose the latter. Bought it the week before the July 4th holiday. Wasn't desperate so I ordered it with the cheapest shipping and was promised the drive on the Friday following the 4th. Instead it arrived on the preceding Wednesday. I doubt the seller had much control over that, but it did make it an even more positive experience. Had it been on time or even a day late I wouldn't have lowered my rating, but getting it two days earlier than promised certainly didn't hurt.

Works great, easy to install.

After much consideration last year I decided on this drive in order to add a somewhat complete feeling to my first real PC build. I have never owned any type of optical drive from Pioneer and to say the least I am not at all disappointed with this drive. It has a solid feel and it has yet to fail on me once! I would completely recommend this drive to anyone looking for an optical drive for their very own PC.
