Does what is supposed to do and more?

I swapped this in for an old DVD drive on my Linux system and it just worked for reading DVDs and Blu-ray discs; no need for special drivers or kernel configuration. Optical drives are pretty standardized, so this is nothing more or less than what I expected, but I always like it when a review mentions that a piece of hardware works with Linux, so there you go, it works with Linux. Even though the box is in Chinese, it includes an English-language insert with instructions and other information about the drive.

Great price, works fine. Did not plan on using it for frequent Blu Ray stuff, just wanted blu ray capability, and this does that fine. Not loud at all.
