Install the drivers from the CD even though if you have Windows XX it is a good idea there is proprietary software with it you may not want to install.

great value - slim profile - arrived well packed

-Burns fast (Well all I burned was music and small files, so I can't say for large files.) -Formatted a CD-WR right out of the box, but I installed the software on the drivers disc after. -Comes with some quality-of-life software; would suggest if you have the time to install it. (Come with CD) It saves energy and makes burning and managing your disc way easier. -Also nice that it comes with two different types of USB. :)

ASUS products means you got the best in the price field. It has features that are useful.

Installed into my Asus G752VL Laptop. Burns great, rips 4K movies great. All around wonderful bluray drive.

Burns about ever format you can imagine aside from Bluerays. Noise levels are reasonable and that seems to change with the speeds you are burning. I'm thinking some of the asus and msi's burners are made by Lite on now.

Works perfectly as a UHD friendly player. Instructions provided indicate that the ability to update firmware has been disabled which is great if you are intending to use it for its UHD friendly capability

i like the slime profile and the ease of use. The software that comes with it is very helpful.

VERY QUICK SHIPPING from seller. Seriously. Arrived before NewEgg could track it properly! Generic CD/DVD burner, which is all I wanted for some ancient software I have and for ripping dvd's to my NAS. Hitachi... which, ok, maybe a 'name brand' doesn't mean anything now but still - 'Hitachi'. (Screw LG and their refrigerator box warranty hi-jinks! People DO keep track of being " - rotating-wood-fastener'-ed in one arena and avoid the brand in another.)

Works like a charm. Plug it in and it is ready to go. Blu-ray requires Third party software. I chose "Toast 18 Titanium" Pricy but runs and burns Blu-Ray.
