I have used it that must, but when I needed it, it was great. It was much better than the Samsung Toshiba slime and tiny one which did not have a drawer, which was nothing but problems and cost one hundred dollars. Even though I got this back in March it is the same reasonable price. I had a rebate possible for ten dollars but never sent in the documentation, but for ASUS when I had in the past, this was also smooth. I also have a white ASUS portable DVD player that doesn't burn, but also works well. I have had an ASUS netbook and an Acer ultrabook, neither of which have a optical player built in. small size

It does its job, plane and simple. Most if not just about all new systems no longer come with a CD/DVD drive due to lack of interest. But we found ours after cleaning out a storage unit and finding dozens of old photo cds from our old family albums.
