- Works very well with Dell products - Works with other products (I use mine with a Lenovo Thinkpad T14 and it works fine) - Long thunderbolt docking cable. Many other docks, while cheaper, do not have a long cable which makes cable management and flexibility an absolute nightmare.

Has enough USB ports. All ports (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB A, MicroSD/SD card reader, headphone/mic combo) work in recent Linux distributions, tested 5.14.14 kernel. Most ports work in Android with the Samsung Galaxy S21.

Handles 12-24TB HDDs without issues (my old dock was hit or miss with any drives equal to or larger than 12TB). USB-C 10Gbps is a welcome upgrade over old 5Gbps when using 2.5" SSDs.

* So easy. Just slide drives into slots and power on. No tools. * Open case means passively cooled. * Handled my old NAS SATA drives without a hitch. 3 x 1 TB Samsung, 1 x 2 TB Samsung, 1 x 500 GB Seagate. * hdparm (free linux tool) spins down the drives on idle timer.

Has all the ports you need. Plenty of USB 3.0 ports especially. Which is a must if adding a keyboard, mouse, headset, etc. For adding one extra display via VGA, it worked great with my macbook pro.
