I've only had this modem for 3days at the time of this review. I'll be comparing this with my previous modem the ARRIS SB183, keep in mind there are many variables which will ultimately end with different results for different users. Size: the CM1000 is a few inches taller with a larger footprint due to the bottom base. The Led lights on the face are more muted which is less distracting for me based on my setup. Speed: this will vary based on your provider & service but in my case I had no performance increase both modems clock in at 230 Mbps down and 12Mbps up on average. The CM1000 is better suited for those who have access to DOCSIS 3.1 or are looking to upgrade an older modem, if you have a similar situation to mine you're better off keeping the unit you have as there is no increase in performance for the $100 premium. Design (Airflow) Performance LED Lights are more muted than my ARRIS modem

Easy to set up, and has been working without any problems.

Convenient to have, setup of ports for IP cameras super easy. Wifi and hardwire networking both equally fast this thing is a beast with a intel processor. Great for simultaneously streaming and online gaming even at the same time no differences in speed. I have a 1.2gb network speed and this setup makes everything work without struggling for bandwidth or loading speeds. New app for the newer versions of the ARRIS stuff is sweet too super easy to use and easy to understand. The color of the modem combo is black so it's super easy to keep clean and dust free.

Much improved internet reception: faster page loads, no dropouts.
