The drive works great and does what I intended it for which was to replace a smaller SSD drive that was running out of space that also served as the location for my operating system. The Acronis cloning software worked, but not without a learning curve and reading the online manual at crucial’s site. At least for me cloning my windows 10 operating system on a desk top I had install the crucial drive inside the computer just as it would normally reside. The sata to usb cable hooked externally did not work for me. Again this is for my situation with windows 10 so it may not be the same as everyone’s but once the crucial drive was installed I booted up my computer as normal and then open disc management and create a drive letter for the crucial drive which shows up as zero. Run the Acronis software and select clone disc and select your original boot drive as the source drive and your new crucial drive as the target drive and follow the instructions from there. I received an error for unable to allocate disc space on the target drive but believe this is data that comes with the crucial drive that is on the drive so chose ignore all and your good. Just remember to unhook your original drive to boot up with your new drive.
