Thi SSD replaced an old C:\Drive and it brought an old Laptop to life. for cheap!Popped it in, installed Windows, and was good to go.

I bought a 500gb nvme, but got a terabyte instead

added Tforce Vulcan 2.5 SSD 4 TB so far its compatible and working, my neighbor got same system with my recommendation and ask me if this huge amount of storage is needed I responded not really, however got a good price from Newegg and went for it so bottom line I have recording and snapshot capacity fir the next 5 years ! :) Javier Newegg customer since 2005 .

Impressive beefy heat sink ensures excellent heat dissipation and looks great! Machines that utilize the speed of this drive with your OS installed will increase your boot rate times along with loading programs/games more quickly. For testing I cloned my OS over to this drive and it definitely increased my overall speeds compared to my previous drive! The PCIe Gen 4 NVMe standard doubles the speed compared to previous versions of PCIe Gen 3 NVMe. Just make sure your board supports it if you want to get the full speed out of this drive. The Corsair MP600 PRO XT is backwards compatible with PCIe Gen 3.0 NVMe but will only give you half the rated speed. So, if you are still running a motherboard with PCIe Gen 3.0 NVMe and need to upgrade your current storage this drive will work fine and can be swapped over when you upgrade to a newer mother board. Verified by testing on a spare Gen 3 machine. If your motherboard has integrated M.2 NVMe heat-sinks that are removable and you are confident in your boards cooling capacity you can remove the preinstalled heat sink and install the drive utilizing your boards existing M.2 heat sink. Corsair provides a link on their product information page with detailed instructions for how to remove the preinstalled heat sink. Which they state will not void your warranty unless the components are damaged!

Plug 'n' play with 3rd party external enclosure I can't believe how far we've come in just the last 2-3 years in regards to availability, speeds, and reliability, plus even accessibility which makes it just the best recommendable upgrade anyone can do, whether it be for an older laptop needing a boost to speeds, or even as an addition to a gaming system as a 2ndary drive. I'm, however, using this as a nice everyday-carry item where I put all my larger files which transfer extremely fast, and batches of smaller files which transfer completely before you even have a chance to look down twice at your keyboard. Thanks Newegg for carrying this, and thanks Crucial for continuing to make products that are a true bargain while attaining superior performance.
