Plug and play
* Nice compact form factor * Included power adapter option is nice * Even nicer is being able to power it off PoE - one less wire/plug socket to deal with * Integrates well with the UniFi Network app, showing what devices are connected to it
UniFi compatible and suited to the kinds of awful environmental conditions the old Ubiquiti Tough Switch Pro was perfect for. Being managed by UniFi rather than UISP simplifies the network, so it's GREAT to have this niche filled. Surprisingly useful to have more ports, didn't know we needed them until we had the option.
Has 2x10Gbps slots, 8x2.5Gbps slots, and 16x1Gbps slots. All 24 of the RJ45 ports have a backlight that glows through the clear RJ45 connector on your cable to convey which port speed you achieved. Green is 2.5Gbps, white is 1Gbps, Red is 100Mbps. This makes it really easy to know if you have the right cable in the right slot.
Works as advertised and had no issues with autonegotiating speeds on interfaces with Google Fiber's provided equipment (an issue I had read about in reviews for other boxes which I was concerned about). Get full speed.
-Whisper quite -Many Features -Web GUI or phone app to manage it -You have to know what your doing or at least read the manual.
Great switch and does all I need it to do.
I have used these switches at work and at home, and they simply work. Zero issues. I once had lightning strike right outside my window. It fried the wired network interface of a laptop and two of my routers, but the NETGEAR GS105 sitting between them was completely unaffected. That was two years ago and the switch still works perfectly.
Small, easy to hide and put out of sight. Metal case is durable. Extremely easy plug and play setup. Supports 1000 Mbps. Energy Efficient.
Quality build - in a full metal case the build quality is excellent. Size - at just over 11 inches long and a height of just under 1 inch it can be mounted underneath or on the back of your computer desk. No wasted space - the case is only slightly larger than the area for ports. Easy to mount - a couple of screws to mount it
It's a brand-new 5-port gigabit switch for cheap. Just plug it in and go.
