Small foot print, managed, and gigabit.
Cool, fast, well built
- Works out of the box - No setup or configuration needed - Small enough to place almost anywhere
I received this switch recently and already preformed my tests. My first test was a stress test on the wires and plugging in as many devices as possible. With many devices plugged into it and it being light it pulls the device off the desk but there is a secure port Which is a very big plus! +1 The device had all 8 switches plugged into it with cat5e. I had run local tests and it supported the full 1000 Mbps. In local. I had noticed that when transferring files locally it could only support 5000 Mbps so i could not have all 8 devices running at 1000 Mbps. 5000 Mbps transfers is a very big amount so a huge plus. +1 After doing local file transfers i decided to test if it would properly detect if the devices is 10/100/1000Mbps. It did detect the 10/100/1000Mbps devices properly according their catagory. +1 I wanted to test to see if the ports were snug. I had someone hold the device while I put my full weight on the cords. The cords broke before it came out the device so a very big + that its almost 100% secure. +1 I decided to test the internet speeds. I tested the internet speeds before plugging in the devices. Each devices had scored ~70Mbps in transfer speeds before being plugged into the device. I plugged all 7 devices into the switch and 1 Ethernet cord that led into the wall into the switch. I tested each device individually and then tested the devices all together. ~65Mbps when all being tested and ~70Mbps when individually tested. This showed almost no / absolutely no speed lost. This was a great plus +1 The Device was metal and very very well built. +1

Fast performance and PoE+/++ out of the box! Small footprint and overall a performance beast for my network
Just being able to test cables and see TX/RX stats alone is worth the extra couple bucks vs. unmanaged. The other features, particularly port mirroring, are icing on the cake.
The switch has a very heavy and quality feel to it. POE+ works great with my cameras, and wireless access points.
Works as advertised and had no issues with autonegotiating speeds on interfaces with Google Fiber's provided equipment (an issue I had read about in reviews for other boxes which I was concerned about). Get full speed.

If the architecture is the same as the GS108, netgear made a change to support jumbo frames in 2005, but it's confusing to know for sure if jumbo frames are supported or not.
