This is protecting a pfsense router and a NAS. The USB connection to the pfsense machine works well. The setup for 'nut' in pfsense: Set the type to 'Tripplite AVR USB' and set the port to 'Auto USB' It will recognize the UPS properly and can read all the diagnostics from it just fine. It will NOT think it's a tripplite, that's just a workaround to get communications going. I like the display, very geeky and slick. The unit is very quiet. Spacing of the outlets is okay, you get enough outlets to protect anything that has business being on a UPS. I like that cabling for USB is included; all too many manufacturers skimp on this kind of thing.
longer running times, uses the Powerchute app which is great.
The product is improved from my prior model without much difference in price. I like that the box is just a little bit smaller and better ventilated.
I've had this about 2 weeks. This replaced a Cyberpower UPS that died. Not much to say about a UPS. I bought this to place behind my TV and console. I was tired of loosing power for a second and having to wait an eternity for the cable DVR to boot back-up. Living in the lightning capital of the USA we see a great deal of power outages. The size and design of this UPS works great for my application. I have my TV, WiFi Router, DVR and Google TV player on this UPS with no problems. Hopefully this will provide the back-up I need for short outages and brown-outs.
Comes with all required bits, including USB cable Works seamlessly with Windows PC & QNAP servers Simple installation Flexible controls for system shutdown
mounted to the wall easily. everything works as expected
Simple battery connection and change out, no need to use screws and dis assemble the unit like other brands. I have had these ware out over many many years but they still last the longest and easy to swap out old batteries is a must for me.
Easy setup Clean looking Easy management
interfaces with NUT on NAS4Free server perfectly
Didn't have to mess with it to get it up and running. Previous UPSes had to have the battery connected. Not so here. The one brief power blip I have had allowed my computer to keep running.
Excellent UPS system that has long battery life has saved my data during storms & several power outages.
Best part of this UPS is the LCD display. It has a pocketful of vitals that it can display. I leave it set to Output (in wattage) to keep an eye on my power usage. It has a nice back light that can be seen day or night.
Plenty of outlets, both batter-backup and surge-protected. No setup required, just plug it in. Battery replacement will be a snap when the time comes (battery cover comes off without having to undo screws). 650VA is plenty for a laptop & docking station, with a couple of monitors. The footprint isn't tiny, but small enough for my home-office setup.
Ok, to get this out of the way--ONE button does everything. Not the most convenient thing for consumers to do but simplifies things for the maker of the product except when people call them and go "blah blah, how do I do this or dat?" The instructions come with it on how to set settings though. Voltage trip range could be set to sensitive, normal, or high. I left it on normal, which is preset, and it tripped once within a week--I heard a click from the unit, which means it activated. Also, audio alarm could be disabled (or couple other options as to when it would activate), all of which also is set by one button.. meh. You have to hold button for so long, blah, do so long of a press blah, blah blah... meh. Green power LED is very nice looking but too bright for bedrooms, so I had to put a sticky note paper over it and paint that area with a black permanent marker (in reverse order) to keep that light from shining brightly in the room. Overall: it is a very nice polished looking product for a reasonable price.
- Quiet quiet quiet - Screen has lots of info and is easy to understand - Lights aren't too bright - More outlets than I could ever need
Been waiting for a storm to submit a review. This unit maintained my internet connection during a Tornado Warning and subsequent power outage. I love it!
not having to worry about my $6,000 Switch... easy to use web based interface
Everything works just as it is supposed to. The LCD display is quite handy.
