This is the update to my Plextor 890 DVD burner that I bought in 2011. It looks and works identically. It is a lot quieter than the 890. The 890 made a sound when the PC booted that was akin to a seal barking. The 891 only makes a very muted sound when the PC boots. I replace the 890 because after 10 years, it had lost some of it's functionality. It still played music CD and read SOME software discs. But it became iffy on burning, and some discs could not be read at all. So I replaced it with this mostly identical model.

Plugged in and worked great. No problems at all.

Great for our use.

works great (read the description on shipping b4 you order!!!)

I bought it for use with my Brennan music system. It does everything I wanted

This Lite-On DS-8ACSH was purchased to replace the failed optical drive in an hp Elite Desk 800 G1 tower. (Yes, it is a tower case, and yes, it does use a 12.7mm height drive, which is usually found in a laptop.) I am happy that this drive fits perfectly in place of the original drive. It seems to read discs quite a bit faster than the original drive, though this might be due to the gradual failure over time of the old drive. Windows 10 recognized the drive immediately and it worked without anything further.

Finally I found the drive I need!!!! This drive supports 4x burning speed for DVD. I have been looking for long time, but none of the drives I’ve found are able to burn at 4x at all. I like to burn at 4x because it makes my movies perfect with no glitches or skips, even if I use cheap DVD media. Using this Piodata drive, I didn’t have any toasted discs when I burned at 4x. All the discs I burned came out perfect and play on all of my DVD players.
